Outdoor Wind Instruments

I use this mic to record string and wind (brass mostly) instruments. The different patterns make it effective in a variety of spaces depending on whether you want to reject other sounds or include reflections. Versatile and great sound quality. 5 |

I like wind instruments. This is that and so much more. Nice features make playing sound like the real thing. Tried it all but haven't used it as a midi controller yet 5 |

I got this to use on my AlienBee (with attachment) for outdoor posed sports photography and so far really like it! (I did try once to use my umbrella/PLM outside and the wind took it over...this is a better alternative and really helped to light my subjects.) 5 |

I use this wind shield at my outdoor events. It works well and I like the soft coat. It even comes with a comb. I need to thing of a good name for her. 5 |

If you have mics this size that need wind protection, you can't beat these. I use them with a pair of LOM Usi Pros for outdoor A-B stereo recording. 5 |

We got this for use as a shoot-through umbrella for outdoor portraits. Since it is small it doesn't catch the wind as much as larger umbrellas but is just big enough to take the edge off of the shadows from the strobes. I wasn't sure what to expect at this price range, but was pleasantly surprised with the build quality. All-in-all I am pleased with the umbrella. 5 |

The RODE WS12 Deluxe Windshield for the VideoMic GO II is a crucial accessory for anyone recording outdoors. It effectively minimizes wind noise, ensuring that your audio capture remains clear and undisturbed by the elements. When I'm filming in the field, attaching the WS12 to my VideoMic GO II becomes practically mandatory. Its design not only shields the microphone from wind but also maintains audio quality without muffling the sound. Compact and easy to attach, it seamlessly integrates with the mic, making it an essential tool for outdoor shoots. The difference in audio clarity with and without the windshield is night and day, making the WS12 an indispensable part of my outdoor recording setup. 5 |

Rycote Softies render wind noise nearly perfectly. I use them for outdoor concerts, and indoors with poorly designed air handling systems. Long Softies, for shotgun microphones, are often called Dead Cats. I prefer to call the little ones for capsule microphones Tribbles, in deference to the original Star Trek episode. 5 |
