Over Ear Headphones Isolation

I love these headphones. As stated in the title, I replaced my Shure SE215 in-ear monitors with these. I used Shure IEM's for traveling because of the high sound isolation provided by the triple flange ear tips. I decided to go a different direction with these because all my other headphones are Sony and I've always preferred the sound of Sony. I use Sony IEMs and Sony over-ear headphones for producing, mixing, and mastering music to give you an idea of my sound preference and experience with critical listening. The noise cancellation in the WI-1000XM2 is very comparable to the sound isolation of the Shure's. I would say with the proper fit, the noise cancellation is better, unquestionably in the low frequencies. The sound of the WI-1000XM2 is excellent. Slightly bright but not overbearing and certainly not lacking in bass. Detailed, clear, and balanced. I've already used them for traveling and love them, especially on planes. This is my first neckband headphone and it doesn't bother me. I might even say I prefer it as they can remain around my neck without constant stowing. Also, the cords to the earpieces are short won't tangle :) The build quality is excellent. I highly recommend them!

I have been using a similarly priced set of in-ear headphones for about 5 years and have been very happy with them. With some upcoming travel, I wanted to look into a setup with better passive isolation and kept coming back to the SE215 in all of my research. These sound incredible for the price, and I am really enjoying the sound isolation! Bass response is nice and tight and helps maintain a lot of clarity at lower volumes. I would definitely buy these again.

Very good sound isolation compared to all headphones I've previously owned. Managed to sleep through an entire transatlantic night flight while regular cabin noises (including a crying infant) were isolated with the aid of relaxing ambient music. Sound bleedthrough is not a problem with volumes at normal levels. It comes with a carrying case and additional ear tips. The wire loops around your ear, which takes some getting used to, but it doesn't bother me.Only downside I could think of, is that the bass could be little stronger.

I am enjoying my Marshall Over-ear Monitor II A.N.C headphones. Lots O'padding, comfortable when I wear my glasses. The Noise cancelling feature is really awesome.

Over the ear headphones reduce ambient noise. Sound quality is very good for mono headphones.

I personally don’t get on with in-ear headphones. Over-ear seem too cumbersome as I use mine mainly on dog walks and need to carry them in my pocket sometimes. The Major IV seem to offer the best of both worlds. They are on-ear, yet deliver a really good sound. The design is simple and different to most other headphones available. The battery life is astonishing. I’ve had mine for two weeks now and still haven’t needed to charge them. Really, really pleased with them.

Over the years I have gone through many headphones almost all of which broke. The head band broke or one of the ear pieces broke off. These are extremely well made and virtually unbreakable. More importantly, it has superb sound able to pick up from the lowest frequency to the highest! The sound is very rich, full and clear. Love them!

I recently got my hands on the AKG K371 Over-Ear Oval Closed-Back Studio Headphones and I must say, I'm thoroughly impressed. The sound quality is outstanding, rivaling my higher-priced Sennheiser headphones. The AKG K371 delivers clear, balanced audio, making it an excellent choice for both casual listening and studio work. The design of the headphones is another highlight. With a sleek and smooth aesthetic, they not only provide comfort for extended listening sessions but also add a touch of style. The build quality feels robust, ensuring these headphones can withstand the rigors of daily use. However, it's worth noting that the AKG K371 headphones do not offer significant sound isolation from external noise. While this may not be a deal-breaker for everyone, it's an important consideration if you're planning to use them in noisy environments.

Over the ear work great for me. Sounds great also. No complaints.

As the title says, I had the velour pads by Auray on my MDR-V6's and in terms of comfort they were amazing! But with the increase in comfort my V6's lost some sound quality because the velour pads had not so great isolation. That is where these ear pads come into play. Not only are they comfortable for long listening sessions, but the sound isolation is amazing compared to the stock ear pads and way better than the velour pads. And with the boost in isolation, the sound quality from the V6's has been boosted as well! My only gripe with these ear pads is in the same boat as the rest of the reviewers, the ear pads are a pain to install. But the installation process is minimal to worry about because the pads are so good once they are fitted onto the headphones.
