Panasonic G85 Mirrorless Camera

We photographers know that there is no perfect camera or the best camera. You can get very close to perfection if you have lots of money to spend, but you can still find a few misses in a very expensive camera. The trick is to find a camera that suits your needs and budget, and provides great image quality (still and video), ergonomics, build quality, good range of lenses, user-friendly menu, great auto focus and reasonable low light performance. The G85 has all of these and more. Add details such as card slot on the side, battery compartment away from the tripod mount, full tilting screen, in-body image stabilization (IBIS), 3.5 mm mic jack, weather-sealed, metal front body and no shutter shock, and you have a winner. It does not feel plasticky like some other mirrorless cameras out there. I always used the Canon DSLRs in the past but gave them to my daughter, who is now into photography. I was looking for a smaller but still reliable digital camera with great stills and video capabilities to capture our travels and outdoor activities. After weeks of online research, I decided to purchase the G85 and firmly believe it is one of the best mirrorless in its class. It is also robust and feels like a smaller SLR, i.e., it feels like you are holding a real camera, not a toy. Highly recommended.

I got this adapter to use my old Canon lenses with my new Panasonic G85. Works pretty good. The metal interface on the lens side fits perfectly. On the camera side there is a tiny rotational slop after it clicks into place, but I can't see how that would effect anything. Of course, there is no communication between lenses and camera - no image stabilization, autofocus or aperture control. But still a great bargain if you don't need your lens to talk to your camera.

After decades of shooting with MFT (Panasonic G85) I wanted to try a camera with APC-s sensor that comes in lightweight shape. Z-50 is an awesome camera. One quip: camera's strap that comes with camera and carries a NIKON name on it is a SHAME to the brand

I use a Panasonic UX-180 and a G85 for shooting event videos, each camera has one of these monitors. The false color feature enables quick exposure matching between the two cameras and cuts color grading time in post production.

Panasonic hit a home run with the G85. It combines a rugged, weathersealed body with IBIS, 4K and plenty of tools to allow for all the flexibility most photographers could ask for. I've been impressed with the effectiveness of the stabilization, especially while walking and filming - so smooth! I don't have many gripes about the G85. The battery life could be a bit stronger and a higher-bitrate 1080p codec would be nice. Overall a great buy and a powerful tool for the photographer or videographer.

I use this in my PANASONIC FZ-2500 for videography and it keeps me powered up with no battery changes. love It!!!! If you have a G85 like i do it won't work because you cant close the battery door.

I'm a hobbiest and I wanted the best bag for my Panasonic Lumix DMC-G85. I have one other Porta Brace bag and loved it. So I got another for this camera. I splurged on the digital camo and it looks better in person. Well worth the extra cost. The bag fits all of my accessories and extra 45-150mm lens with, so no space issues since the inside is customizable. The shoulder strap is perfect and grips just right. You feel this bag is secure on your shoulder. Large side pocket that is sealed by strong velcro. A great space for the small bits.
