Paper Hanging Construction

I have 3 rolls of paper hanging from both sides of my tiny studio - it all works very well.

This is very easy to use for hanging fiber paper photographs. I can also hinge my mats with it.

Product is easy to install and is durable construction. I trust is hanging from my classroom ceiling here in San Diego earthquakes.

I'm this in my home studio to roll out the backdrop paper hanging from two autopoles. It works as it should.

Heavy and sturdy. Exactly what I needed. I'm hanging 3, 9 ft wide paper rolls from two of these about 15 ft in the air. They aren't going anywhere.

I've used this for paper rolls, but also for hanging loose fabric. PRO: It's lightweight & telescopes down to a transportable length. CON: It's lightweight, which worries me that it will break - but in several years' steady use, it hasn't. On occasion I've had trouble twisting (unlocking) its sections, to make it expand or contract.

As you might imagine, vinyl is much heavier than paper, which is something that should be considered when hanging. The vinyl is prone to cling and will collect anything loose it comes in contact with the floor. Anything clinging statically is can be difficult to wipe off once rolled. The vinyl is far more durable and wrinkle resistant than paper, but it's not bulletproof by any means. I got about a half dozen uses in before scratches and wrinkles called for it to be cut down. Whereas I can usually only get a single, maybe two uses out of a paper roll. So, I'd say in my experience the additional cost vs use is pretty much an even split when compared to paper, more or less depending on how often you work with animals, children or anyone wearing heels. I would consider the key point of distinction being the texture and matte finish, the vinyl does a fantastic job soaking up light in high key lighting arrangements. To the point that I would probably keep buying this even if I had to replace / cut it every use (hence the 5 stars). It's that dark.
