Password Access Management Solutions

Easy integrated management with UniFi: If you're already running another UniFi device and have a pre-existing instance of the UniFi Controller, adopting this switch and making the necessary adjustments to its configuration are very intuitive and a breeze. Provisioning VLANs and assigning per-port configurations are far more complex in other vendor's UIs and solutions. At a glance, you can quickly discern connected MAC address, link speed, and whether or not PoE is in use. Configuration changes apply quickly with no disruption. Updating firmware revisions is also incredibly simple. No additional steps with other protocols/solutions are required as long as you have a running UniFi controller.

When it comes to attached storage solutions for audio and video editing this is the best option I have used yet, and I have tried a lot. I primarily use a Mac Studio at this time as my revision 5,1 Mac Pro's have pretty much been retired at this point. A Mac Studio is great but lacks the storage capacity to be able to house data. After trying a plethora of external devices I ordered this Flex 8 and have to say, this thing has some power. I installed four 10TB NAS hard drives I had as a backup in a Raid array in an existing Mercury Rack Pro (USB 3.1, so I wanted to replace that for performance purposes) and then I added three 18TB NAS drives in a RAID array. That gave me 30TB of usable space on the first array and 36TB on the 2nd. Then I added an OWC Shuttle with four 4TB memory modules and I combined those into a RAID array as well, giving me 16TB of usable space. This one tower now provides me with 82TB of space and gets rid of all of the external drives and devices I had connected to my MAC Studio. Regarding performance, it's flawless. I am editing off the 16TB array which is blazing fast. I couldn't be happier with a device as I am with this one. The best part is the PCIE slot which is available for use. I'm looking forward to experimenting with that in the near future. This has really completed my edit bay setup as well as offered me a solid solution for data management. I highly recommend this unit for localized data management. It is very powerful and very well thought out. I also do like the software version as it puts the control at your fingertips. I hops this review helps someone looking for data management solutions.

I spent a long time looking into various 5.1 surround bass management solutions that would work with regular Windows audio as well as audio through a DAW for studio and game development use. There are various software solutions for each, but most would not give consistent results between Windows system and DAW audio. I started looking for either a bass management hardware unit (some add latency) or a surround controller with bass management (way more expensive than this sub), then came upon the few Genelec subwoofers which have built-in surround bass management. I only have a 5.1 surround system so I chose this sub, and am happy I did so. While the cost is higher than I would like, there aren't that many other subs that handle surround bass management, and it handles both bass management and LFE duties well. The manual is comprehensive, and there are little switches and a knob on the side that allow you to customize rolloff, boosts, power saving, 4 phases, and sensitivity. Noise floor is very low, and it pumps out enough oomph for my calibrated small home studio even with the largest rolloff as well as the lowest input sensitivity. I'm not using it to shake the house, but rather to hear the lowest frequencies correctly while mixing and listening to all kinds of stuff. It's also smaller than some other subs, and that's a plus for my room as well. I don't really have anything to complain about for this sub other than Genelec's pricing, but since there are few subs that handle surround bass management and I didn't find any cheaper than this, it is what it is. Great product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently got this to try to secure some files that I was a little uneasy having just sitting on a drive and in one of my cabinets. This drive seems to be well built and easy to use. First thing I had to do is set up a new password and the directions were very simple to do so. The manuals are stored on the drive so I would suggest to copy them off the drive so you can access them more easily and understand the drive a bit more. It's not really complex to use so anyone should be able to use this drive. Once I set up the password I was able to use this and move all my sensitive files to this drive and make sure they are very secured. I then tested it by giving my code to my family to access. They were able to gain access so I knew I was good. I was then able to remove the unsecured files off my laptop. I know have a little more peace of mine that my sensitive documents are secured and no one will be able to access them unless I give them the code and the drive. I would recommend this drive to anyone looking for a little more security for their sensitive files and digital documents.

The PC equivalent takes time to load, this one is instant. And, you can access both the Cameras AND the management of Switches and Access points from the same device, AND to top it off, it holds the recordings from cameras. Finally, you can replace the disk drive with your own for larger capacity. I really enjoy the management counsel. I have used the diagnostic capabilities to identify and fix issues that would otherwise be mysteries. It is GREAT!

I have an Ubiquiti Dream machine and needed to add two access points. I chose this switch not only for its management capabilities but also POE. Granted this is for a home setup so the price point and operating specs are perfect. It does everything I need and then some including being controlled centrally. Perfect.

This device provides local management for all my UniFi devices that I can access remotely. It took only 3 minutes to setup, but you should have a POE port available to power the device since it does not come with a plug.

We purchased these because we often need to console a system in the field and console using the lights out management interface isn't reliable. With this KVM Console we can use our laptops to access the console on our systems in the field instead of configuring remote console over Ethernet and relying on out of band management to access our system consoles.

This is one of those things that sounds like a great idea (and it is) but also seems like it should be simpler to configure than it actually is. To be fair, i've a background in IT, so I was able to stumble through it easy enough but still some cursing was heard during the process. UBNT's management software is a breath of fresh air compared to dealing (years of ) other primitive WiFi systems, tons of configurability in it (so much so that I may never use of all it).  It can be a little temperamental but it will reward you if you are patient. Once it is set up properly it requires very little hands on time afterwards. Some dives through Reddit, UBNT's own community forums did answer some questions I had about the setup during the process. You will want at the very least a multi-port (preferrably a POE+) switch to make the process simpler.  Setup tips: One UBNT A.P. and the CK Gen 2 must be on the same switched segment during setup so that configuration and provisioning may occur (or this will not work). Internet access is not mandatory during setup but it helps. Cloud (remote) access and management are optional for the security minded crowd but they are available. The device may be configured by phone or tablet APP, or logging into the device VIA it's IP address in a web browser with the correct port. Doing this some other way than web browser may lead to an inability to log into the device. For experienced technical trades people and adventurous self teaching individuals, this is a cool product!   A heads up for the non-technical crowd:  I don't recommend this product for you, stick to buying your vanilla wireless solutions from whatever your preferred source is. This kind of product is not intended for you.

I have bought almost a dozen of these access points for home and business use. I love the set up and management through the Unifi controller. My clients love the lack of maintenance on there side for Wifi. No need to reboot them every other day like typical wireless access points.
