works great with an old 3.0 lightning trigger!

I have 3 of these already for various backup purposes, and they work perfectly. USB 3.0 is lightning fast, and drives are small and portable.

I use my 2017 iMac for music composition and recording. I wanted to connect a fast USB 3.0/Lightning hard drive to be online with the iMac all the time to use as a dedicated hard drive for music recording. I have a USB audio interface and MIDI keyboard controller connected all the time to the iMac and I found that the four iMac USB host ports were completely occupied when doing a Time Machine backup to another USB 3.0 external hard drive, so I wanted to move my dedicated music hard drive (G-Technology G Drive Mobile 1 TB USB 3.0/Lightning drive) to a Lightning 3 port on the iMac. I wanted to utilize a Lightning 3 port and also to free up a USB 3.0 host port. The Apple Thunderbolt 3 Male to Thunderbolt 2 Female Adapter allows me to do just that. The adapter powers the Lightning drive and provides fast I/O with no fuss.

I also ordered Apple Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader, which allows me to put an SD card from point and shoot Canon, Kodak, and Panasonic cameras in so I can import photos easily onto my iPad. Apple Lightning to USB 3.0 Type-A Camera Adapter allows me to add small Thumbdrives / Flashdrives to add storage. In truth the Apple Lightning to USB 3.0 Type-A Camera Adapter is currently unnecessary for me, as I just deleted whatever I don't need on the iPad. There is enough native storage for basic Apps, editing, and writing!!

I use the Senal SMH-1000 with a Sony PCM-M10 to check levels, and with a Panasonic HC-X900M camcorder for monitoring. They have a nice, clear, open sound and a very strong bass response. They fold up fairly compact and they come with both a straight, short cable and a curled, longer cable - great kit. I had never heard of Senal before I saw these headphones as recommended accessories on B&H's web site, but I trusted B&H's recommendation (and return policy!) and I'm very happy with the SMH-1000.

It works great with the USB 3.0 cable provided with the D810.
