I have used this scanner, and its nearly identical predecessor DR-4010C for nearly 20 years. It is heavy duty and reliable, with no issues or problems. After closing my law office, I scanned and converted several hundred boxes of client files to PDF computer files, before shredding all the paper. This scanner easily processed everything, and more, and continues to work well. I quickly scan whole books to PDF computer files, before converting them to text with OCR software, so the computer can read them using text-to-speech software. It just keeps on working as it should. This is the singularly best piece of office equipment I ever purchased. There is good reason Canon still makes this model with no apparent changes. You bet, I would buy it again. Sidebar Observation - I enjoy using this scanner with Canon's new I.R.I.S. PDF and OCR program, which works well and is well worth its comparatively low price. I have used most of the other major OCR and PDF programs, including, but not limited to, PaperPort, OmniPage, TextBridge, ABBYY OCR, Foxit PDF, Adobe Acrobat, Nitro PDF, and several others programs, and Canon's I.R.I.S. application is my current favorite. This scanner makes it so easy to scan a document and save it as a PDF file in two simple steps. I was also amazed on how simple it was to scan negatives and electronically preserve treasured memories. If it's simplicity and quality that you are seeking, then this scanner is the one. I am also using this scanner on Windows and Mac OSX. Scanner works good on either system.

the scanner can scan multiple pages into one pdf document. I tested a 115 page document into 1 page. read the instructions well. the canon web site has a supplemental page with instructions.. took a while to read but now I am fairly confident of what the scanner is capable of doing. I use a Mac Mini and the resolution is more than adequate. the higher the resolution the larger the file. fits normal & legal size.

This replaced our Scan Snap scanner. One of the best benefit is that when I can it makes it a scannable or searchable PDF. Pretty slick. Highly recommend this scanner. I use a mac for a and use preview mac software to search for files and works great.

I scan a lot of documents, convert to PDF format and review/store/collate in Devonthink using iMac and ScanSnap. I bought this scanner to replace a much smaller Fujitsu model that has served me well for years until I realized I needed something faster. This scanner was easy to integrate into my workflow, is compact, very fast, batch-scans easily and looks rather elegant. Supplied drivers and software were easy to install and the scanner really works seamlessly.

This scanner is very easy to use but packed with great features. I can easily scan to a jpeg or PDF and a searchable PDF. No problems with scanning the edges of a bound book. It is reasonably priced and does a great job!

The two color system is a pleasure to work with and the bar code function makes it so much easier for inventory control

Great stand for desktop use. Only one drawback is that bar code label took some work to remove.
