Pedal Steel Guitar Country Music Instruments

This compressor is incredible for pedal steel guitar. Channel 1 goes to volume pedal, 2 and 3 stereo at end of chain for more comp/limiting of peaks and noise gate since I have single coil pickups. Full control, perfect!

I was using a smaller version of this and could never keep my music on it. I fasten this to a mic stand on the side of my steel guitar, and until something better comes along, this is it!

Great for sustaining notes on my lap steel guitar.

Bought two of these. One for at home and one for my uncles' house where he is teaching me steel guitar.

I use this to power a guitar pedal rather than changing out batteries. Works perfect, no complaints.

I bought these to permanently attach to some inexpensive LED lighting, which came with cheap mounts. These pins are exactly what I needed for mounting lightweight instruments to C-stands. Because they're aluminum, they're well suited to smaller pieces of kit where a steel pin might be overkill or the weight might actually damage lighter instruments. These pins appear to be fairly precise and consistent, but they are a tiny bit under 0.625. And because they are aluminum, they will not withstand as much abuse as steel - this may lead to nicks, gouges, or deformation, including with the 1/4-20 threads if you try to crank down on them. The best use is for lighter gear, in my opinion around the 15lb limit. I have a bag full of standard spigots and adapters, but have avoided taking along more than one or two baby pins. Given the price and weight of these studs, however, I am carrying a handful along everywhere I go.

One of the best (some would say the best...) microphone in the business, particularly for vocals and lower sound level instruments (acoustic guitar, flute, etc...). Extremely sensitive, very low noise. Picks up the tiniest detail. The switchable polar pattern, integrated low cut filter and 10 dB attenuation pad means you can use them for anything in any situation, couple of switches and you are done. Just did a simultaneous recording with my Schoeps on a flute and these sounded even better, if that was at all possible. More velvet and refinment in the mid tones. You could immediately tell why they are unsurpassed on voice. If you can afford it and don't mind how large they are, this is the quintessential studio mic you need in your arsenal.

Use these for cymbals, ac. guitar, violin... rich sounding instruments. Freq response is terrific & very versatile w/ 2 pad settings, 2 rolloff settings, & 2 patterns. I love having the shockmount clips as well.

Excellent! It does everything I need and more for my pedal steel and telecaster setup, and built in effects can so easily be added or backed off on the fly. Now to see if it can last, being a pretty cheap mixer Ive read varying reports on Behringer, fingers crossed...

I got the last one in stock (time to reorder, B&H!) and I can see why... the Mel9 pedal adds a completely new vibe to any electric guitar setup. It's very dynamic and responsive, only slightly losing track with very soft notes. Send the dry out to one amp, and the effect out to another (or the sound board) and your sound palette gets very big very quickly. Like everyone else probably did, I immediately dialed in the flute sound and learned Strawberry Fields Forever, but it doesn't stop there. Strings, cello, orchestra and choir sounds are super-fun and very authentic - even down to the warbly tape sound. One thing I'm considering is putting an EQ pedal on Mel9 as its sounds can be a little harsh in the midrange. Dial that back, add some reverb, set the attack and decay at about 1 o'clock, and you have a string pad like keyboard players have always enjoyed - at a fraction of the cost of MIDI guitar synth. Play around with pickup settings too, as the effect sound definitely responds differently to neck vs. bridge pickups. Playing speed is also a factor... most of the sounds take a little time to bloom, so staccato, rapid picking probably won't let the sounds fully develop. But for adding a huge layer and vintage texture to your sound, the Mel9 is where it's at. I can't wait to try it on bass guitar too. This one will be used a lot.
