Pentax K5 Digital Camera

very easy to use and works great with my Pentax K5

I use this with a Pentax K5. Works exactly as expected. It probably should have came as standard equipment with the the camera, since it didn't, it is "must have" accessory.

I purchased this L bracket to use on Pentax aps-c format bodies. (K5 & K3). This does block access to the mic, usb, hdmi DC inputs on the left side of the body, none of which I use . There is free access to the battery compartment. It fits the K5 & K3 very well. I needed to cut a piece of foam rubber to go between the body and bracket around the 1/4-20 attachment screw to keep the bracket from turning relative to the camera body. The low profile of this bracket against the body does not defeat the point of having these smaller camera bodies. FANTASTIC functionality for the price!

What a lens! I have it attached to a Pentax K5 and the pictures are absolutely wonderful. The quality of the build make you feel like you purchased a excellent quality lens and don't feel you payed too much. Low light performance is outstanding.

I own several Canon L lenses and at half the price, this is the BEST lens I own! I just bought a Pentax K5 and coupled with this lens I had to increase my photos in Photoshop CS5 to over 100% before I saw any CA (purple fringing). This lens is on a par with my Leica! And superior to my Canon L lenses.

I purchased the SMC DA 18-135mm F/3.5-5.6 ED AL (IF) DC WR Lens by Pentax when I bought a K5 body when they first came out it was my first and only lens for a long period of time I definitely made the right decision the photos have been fantastic, it is quick to focus on any subject matter and all shot so far have turned out perfect. The WR rating was a big consideration as it matched the K5 perfectly if you can only afford one lens when you're just starting out this is the lens to get. It seems to me that the people who were having any kind of trouble with this lens tend to have an older Model Pentax E.g. anything before a K7 and anyone with a K5 or a K3 have no problem with this lens whatsoever it's just an observation I have seen with the reviews.

This is a solid, clear, and very durable screen protector that I use on the Pentax K5. It sure beats the cheap screen protectors that I have used in the past. Application was easy, and I had no problems with air bubbles. Worth the money.

I bought this lens when I purchased my Pentax K5. I have always shot Canon but switched to Pentax when I retired from wedding photography. I was looking for a lightweight outfit with a robust body. I bought the lens based on the reviews on the Pentax forum. It is everything I expected. Great color and contrast. Very light weight and responsive.

I got this for my Pentax K5 and my Pentax K1 Mark II. Works beautifully on both. Manual focus so not great for fast shots. But if you have the ability to take your time this lens will provide fabulous bokeh and wonderful colors. Very crisp and clean shots once you've got the focus down.

I bought the Pentax K5 and this lens at the very end of 2010. This is the only lens I have for the K5.The FA31 is the most impressive lens I've used in 45 years, and that includes Nikon F lenses and Zeiss lenses for the Contax SLRs.My favorite attribute of this lens is its bokeh (i.e. how it renders out-of-focus images, especially highlights). I really wanted the Pentax FA43 lens, due to its size/weight and focal length perspective. I prefer a moderate telephoto to a normal. However, when I tried out the FA31 and the FA43 head-to-head on the K5, the bokeh convinced me. It was that apparent, even though the FA43 has very good bokeh. Background highlights were rendered considerably better with the FA31.One thing I will say, on my K5 I've had to use the AutoFocus Adjustment at +4 to correct for backfocus on the FA31. But that's OK - I'm glad the K5 offers that. That being said, it is still very important to nail the focus with this lens.When your subject is between 2-5 feet away, this lens (like the FA43) gives an almost 3-dimensional rendering. Not always, but often enough. Hard to describe. (A picture is definitely worth 1000 words here!) On this attribute, the FA43 is slightly better, IMHO.Even though the FA31 is not weather-resistant, I've had no problems in moderate rain, though I am careful. And I put a wide (1/2) rubber band around the base of the lens where it joins the body to keep moisture out, as that is the weakest link. The rubber band covers both the camera lens mount and the rear of the lens. The lens itself is extremely well-sealed due to its high quality construction in general.All the other positive attributes you see in other reviews are also true for my FA31 (micro-contrast, color rendition, tonal transitions, etc.), but others have said them already!
