I spent much time reading reviews on mic preamps and came upon UA products before buying one. I considered quite a few units. While many people raved about the 610, I decided to try their 710. I think the price point is very good in comparison to other preamps. I liked the concept of blending a tube circuit into the signal. Upon received the preamp I was immediately impressed with it and never looked back. This is one very nice preamp. Very quiet yet allows me to adjust and blend the tone the way I want. I highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for a quality microphone preamp. 5 |

The WA76 is not supposed to sound exactly like the modern UA 1176LN as another review has highlighted. The WA76 is an exact replica of the Urei 1176 revision D that was produced in the early 1970s. The current UA 117LN is an amalgamation of revisions C, D, & E. These revisions have minor differences in circuitry dealing with low noise and distortion. The WA76 and UA 1176LN are essentially the same beast, but since they are produced with slightly different circuitry designs, one will hear very subtle sonic variations between the two. Which one you like more is a matter of preference. 5 |

I wanted to update from my UA Arrow. Didn't really love UA sound or reliability. This thing sounds amazing! Some people complain about Totalmix setup, but I found it easy and intuitive. My Shure SM7B sounds clear and has enough gain to run it without mic booster. This thing is top notch! 5 |
