Perry Ohio Weather Underground

I am an outdoorsman living on a farm in NE Ohio. I need camera gear that stands up to the elements. Snow, rain, stormy weather, and sudden drenching dew while bouncing around in an aluminum walleye boat at night is regular photography for me. I am up to my elbows in Canon gear, but the Pentax K-1 and this lens give me great peace of mind as far as being able to hold up well to the wet. This lens gives outstanding image quality that I did not expect. I have lots of Canon L lenses with which to compare it. In my eyes, the IQ is right on top with the best of them. With internal focus and internal zoom this lens should and has proved itself to me as an all weather lens I can count on. 5 |

Nothing really exciting, but 1/2 the price of local shops in northeast Ohio. 5 |

I must say that I had underestimated the importance of a good tripod. Steve Perry's videos and e-books convinced me to improve my tripod, and after research, including speaking to a B&H expert, I purchased the Gitzo Series 3 Systematic (Long) tripod. It has changed my photography life! The tripod arrived quickly from B&H 3-days ago, I unpacked immediately and have used it for the last 3 days photographing birds. My current setup includes a Nikon D850, Nikon 200-400 f4 lens and a Benro gimbal head. The Gitzo is super easy to use and my setup now is totally rock solid, making it a joy to photograph! 5 |

As Per Steve Perry advice the use of this clamp attached to your tripod will enable rapid and secure exchange of tripod heads. Gimbel, ball head, even video heads can be interchanged quickly. 5 |

I bought the extra long version based upon the review by Steve Perry. It is very sturdy and is ideal for use with the Wimberley gimbal head. I took Steve’s advice and bought the extra long version so that the monopod can be tilted and used for skyward shots of flying birds. 5 |

I use Steve Perry's quick-release system (Google Steve Perry Swap Tripod Heads The Fast Way) to quickly swap heads on my RRS TVC-24L tripod. The TH-DVTL-55 and TH-DVTL-40 dovetail plates were perfect for my BH-55 and Wimberley 200, but not for the Flexshooter Pro head -- its 3/8 female connection was much too shallow. RRS Support suggested trying this 2.9 multi-purpose 3/8 rail, and it works nicely. Makes a solid connection with the Flexshooter Pro base, doesn't extend much on either side, and of course connects perfectly with the RRS B2-LR-II 60mm lever release clamp. Knotty problem solved! 5 |

Great vest. I'm using it in an underground coal mine. It's like having an extra pair of hands. It distributes weight evenly. I use it for batteries, flashes, all sorts of accessories. There are no pockets for big lenses, but that's O.K. It would make the vest too heavy and cumbersome. It's pretty good at repelling lime and coal dust and water and is not likely to tear easily. Pockets are lined with soft material, which is easy on lenses. These vests are a little pricey, but worth it. They're professional gear and are made for rugged use. 5 |
