Petrol Camera Backpack

After I broke my EX3's visor in a Petrol backpack I have been looking for a bag with maximum protection and some extra storage for the laptop, wireless mic, ect. This case is just perfect for traveling, the camera is secured, and it even though it's a little heavy and large to carry around it fits the overhead compartment when you fly. But I would not go back to any other brand, Porta Brace definitely make the best camera cases, and part of the reason is it is made in the USA and not in China !

This is the best camera backpack, let alone just backpack ever

I use the BlackRapid Backpack Breathe Camera Strap with a Lowepro ProTactic Backpack. One side of the strap connects perfectly to the rings located on the front of the backpack's shoulder straps and the other side connects onto a loop on the bottom of the pack on the other side. The BlackRapid backpack strap allows me to have quick access to my camera. With the camera on the BlackRapid strap, I no longer need to bring my backpack to my side to remove and use my camera. I now use my backpack only to store and change lenses. My camera can now remain outside my backpack, located conveniently to my side at hip level. When I want to shoot, the camera slides smoothly up the camera strap to eye level. I like that the camera hangs upside-down when resting on the strap. It makes for an easy get to position when my camera is resting at my side. This strap is amazingly slick and fun to use. I have to admit that I find myself playing around with it, like I'm some sort of gunslinger, showing off how quick I can be on the draw. I appreciate the movable clips provided on the BlackRapid camera strap. The two clips are easily adjusted, allowing me to restrict the movement of the camera to stay in one place on the strap when I am planning not to shoot. All of the attachment parts seem well made and designed. I keep the bottom strap strapped to the bottom of my backpack and store the rest of the strap in a small pocket on my backpack when I am not using the strap. Then, all I have to do is remove the strap from the small backpack pocket and connect the free end to the opposite shoulder strap . . . and I'm ready to go! I wish the piece that that screws into the camera (Camera Socket Attachment) was designed so that the camera could sit flat when attached, and if the design of the socket attachment would permit a tripod or mono-pod to be screwed into it without having to unscrew it from the camera. I absolutely love the BlackRapid Backpack Breathe Camera Strap!

Perfect for strapping my Sound Devices 302 Mixer in my Petrol PEGZ-1 Eargonizer Audio bag!

I used this to securely place my Sound Devices 302 Mixer in my Petrol PEGZ1 Eargonizer Audio Bag. It works great!

This harness is so sturdy and supports the weight of my Petrol 602 fully loaded so well. However, the shoulder straps pull away from your body under heavy load and would be even better product if it shipped with additional straps to cinch them in across the lower back. The harness has cinch points sewn in, just didn't include straps to use the pre-fab buckles.

While I was worried that this product would not be good enough, I found it to be the perfect solution for my budget. I use this with a Petrol Bag, Zoom Mixer and 5 wireless receivers. Very comfortable.

This really is the best bag I found that fits my Flowtech comfortably- I tried three other ones. I found some better pictures of this bag on Ebay since the documentation here isnt all that helpful. Everything seems really well made with an excellent attention to the small things like YKK zips, lots of storage pockets, strong webbing, hard plastic handles, grab straps, hard plastic skid strips on the bottom, etc. Since Sachtler (Vitec) now owns Petrol this is the only choice for this bag- no more Petrol. Pricey, yes. I wish it was a third as expensive but it ticks all the boxes.

This Bag is simply amazing and BIG. I bought it when it was (Petrol PC104 Deca Rolling U-Bag), Good quality, sturdy, plenty of space, has enough space for my PXW X70 and a HXR NX100 facing each other and on the side you have enough room for the batteries and the LED panels and the wheels are a plus. Nice Job.
