Philip Hue Light Strip Wall Plug

Fantastic ambient lighting provided by this strip connected to a HUE Sync Box.

I upgraded my home editing setup to include a neutral gray surround for color grading. A little research led me to this product and it has proven to be a great choice. The lights are D65 and high CRI (the key factors). Additionally, they are dimmable, though I honestly doubt I will ever use them below their full strength. The light reflected off the wall isn't super-bright, but that's correct (and comfortable) for bias lighting. Because these are strip lights (as opposed to some bars or tubes that I looked at), If you wanted a brighter surround for a smaller area (one or two monitors), you could double up the strip as needed. Similarly, where my monitors are not all the same distance from the wall (due to angles and corners), I was able to even out the brightness along the wall by mounting the strip on the back of the monitors in one place and on the monitor support arm (closer to the wall) in others. I considered adding some kind of diffusion, but I found that the large quantity of LEDs does a reasonable job of spreading the light. The sensor (receiver "eye") for the remote control is on a short pigtail, which meant that even though I wanted all cables out of sight, I was able to have that part poke around the front so the remote control can see it - and the remote works quite reliably. Just for fun, I tried some other power sources and dimmers, none of which worked. I recommend using the Medialight as designed with the included components. Considering that the least expensive strip light on Amazon is around $20 (and the light from that product is terrible (in both color and brightness), the Medialight price is pretty easy to justify.

These extensions are great. So simple to add length to our light strip. Plug it in, put the sticky side down, done.

I like it better than other power strip, because it will let you plug in all finds of plugs very easy.

It gives you white light for your negatives. It can hold AAA batteries or just plug it into the wall outlet.

Gotta love being able to use 3 wall-warts to get the most out of the power strip! We use a handful at my shop.

I had to go looking online in order to find this Belkin power strip with the ROTATING PLUG. I think ALL power strips and all electric appliances should come with a plug head that rotates. It makes it so much easier to have something plugged in behind furniture, without the plug jutting out from the outlet by several inches. Buy this ... you will be happy you did! And to top it off, BH offered this power strip at a terrific price and gave me FREE shipping!!!

It's a modem. You plug it into the wall and then into a router and you get internet.

Fresnel focus works well. Plenty of light. Runs on v-mount batteries or you can plug in it into the wall. Includes a plastic disc filter for tungsten temperature lighting. I also purchased the Bowens Mount Ring Adapter for using a soft box, but I suspect my main use will be as a bounce light. The Lastolite Skylite works really well for this.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The PE76 is full of thoughtful touches. The wall plug is flat, so that it won't block furniture being pushed up against the wall. Plus, the cord comes out from the plug at an angle, so that it doesn't block the other wall outlet. The power cord on my unit is 6' long. There are similar models that have longer or shorter cords, depending on what you need. Openings on the back of the unit that allow for vertical wall mounting. The unit has the typical 6 outlets found on many power strips, plus an extra one that's spaced to handle a large power adapter. I was able to plug in 1 large and 1 medium power adapter without blocking any of the other outlets. Of course, all of the outlets are protected against power surges. A power switch on the unit controls power to all the outlets. A light indicates, when the switch is on. A second light indicates that the ground connection of the wall outlet is wired properly. (A proper ground is required for the surge protection to work. There was one time I actually found incorrect building wiring with such a light.)
