Its floor footprint is tiny (perfect for our tiny Manhattan apartment) yet the lamp is bright enough to replace a “proper” floor lamp — it delivers way more than just “accent” light. I'm primarily a product photographer, but like to play around with other studio-based ideas. I have a full compliment of older Bowens lights and when one of them went down a while ago, I was left high and dry with no servicing options. As such, I was nervous about going with one of the many comparable quality offshore brands and finally decided to 'try' something better. How much better, in all respects, I had no idea until I got the chance to experiment with this. You've already read all about what this mains-only light can do. Yes, it will hurt a bit to upgrade all of my lights - I need quite a lot for what I do, but this is such a huge functional and qualitative improvement over what I had before that I really won't complain. At all.
