Photography Before Digital Cameras

I still enjoy film photography even though I have several digital cameras. This battery with the help of B&H keeps me enjoying photography. 5 |

I have 1 for each of my 4 digital cameras because they are the do everything lens. 5 |

I have used 4 X 5 cameras for years in landscape photography and use movements on them on almost ever shot. When I moved to digital (Nikon) there was a a lack of lenses with movements particularly the tilt function whis I use more than any other. The 24, 45, and 85 PC lenses solved this problem and with proper stitching techniques I can produce images that will enlarge much larger and still give me that control over the plane of focus. 5 |

I have several 35mm cameras and two digital SLRs plus multiple lenses. I am no novice to photography. I purchased this camera from curiosity and as pure entertainment. The price was also a good incentive. So far, it has met all my expectations. The only issue I have with it is, even though it is relatively intuitive to operate, the instruction manual is at best pathetic and of little use. That being said I have already recommended it to several friends. 5 |

1. I dedicate myself to photography 25 years ago, from the analogous cameras. 2. I have had two Olympus digital cameras, three fuji and five Pentax APS C digital cameras and I have sold 60 x 40 inch printed photographs. Now I have acquired the K1 Mark II. 3. My landscape, architecture and commercial photographs have been published in several books. 4. I think the K1 Mark II, is a PHOTOGRAPHIC camera and has a great personality. 5. I think the K1 Mark II is a camera for those who love the moment of each shot as well as the camera settings for each shot. 6. I had a Canon 5D Mark III for 45 days and I used it every day, the system for selecting the focus point is not precise, "almost always jumps" to the wrong place, instead the K1 Mark II system is always accurate. 7. If you want a camera to travel in time, the Mark II is not for you. For me, 4.4 fps is not a problem. 8. The elimination of noise seems fundamental to me and this function, until today, will always be against sharpness and this comment is appropriate, since I also do night photography. 9. I do not have the original K1, so it is impossible for me to do comparative image tests between both cameras, but I can review the tests carried out by Internet professionals who make this type of review and compare one image against the other and the conclusions This type of opinion is very subjective because there is no dispositive that measures mathematically that "X" camera is .001 sharper or .002 less sharp. Of course I recommend the K1 Mark II. I ask for an apology for my English. Greetings 5 |

I am returning to film photography after a stint with some great digital cameras like Nikon D810, Sony A7R II, and Fujifilm X-Pro 2. As it stands now, I sold all those cameras and my Leica M-A is still with me and going strong. Don't get me wrong, all those digital cameras take great pictures, but I always feel like something is missing from the experience. Shooting the M-A is as much about the result as it is about your picture taking experience. In that sense, the Leica M-A is superb. It reduces photography to its bare essentials, and by doing so, photography feels like an intimate conversation with one's own creativity or vision. If I could read this very review just a year ago, I would probably laugh at myself! Now, it's all too late for me. Save yourself and look elsewhere if you can. If not, you might embark on a lifelong love affair with Leica. 5 |

Best everyday lens I have used in 20+ years of digital photography. Sharp and agile focus. Zoom range (36-105mm for APS-C cameras) and large aperture serve 90% of my needs indoors and outdoors. Weight would be a drawback for those who wear cameras like medallions on a necklace all day, but the output of this lens is well worth breaking that habit in some ergonomically sensible way. 5 |

When commercial photography was done with big format analog cameras we were able to correct parallels and to get in focus the whole image by using the different movements of the camera. Then the all-digital era came and if we wanted to keep using our big format cameras we needed to attach to them a digital back that could represent an investment of several tens of thousands of dollars. Now, for less than two grands we can convert our SLR in a parallel-correction-get-everything-in-focus digital image generator. 5 |
