Photos From The Moon

I like it do much! I see the moon!!!!!!

I purchased this lens to take wildlife, landscape, and moon photos. The lens is built well, and love the weathering of the lens. I had a few issues with using the lens and I think it was me and not the lens. Also I believe that I need to calibrate the lens for my camera. I did purchase the Tamron TAP-in Console and will be my next step. The focuses is off. I focuses in the center and have to refocuses using manual focus.

The most versatile kits lens ever. Took photos that range from Ubern City Scape and the Moon. It's a a must have lens for your bag when traveling.

After seeing moon photos and videos taken with the Nikon P1000, I knew I had to get that camera. I'm not a professional anything, but I have experience using a Canon T3 with a 300mm zoom lens. I thought that was amazing! Wow! It is going to take me a very long time to explore the world with my new SUPER zoom eyes! Tonight I took video and pictures of the moon thru my living room window and it had no problem focusing on it! And in moon mode it got the exposure perfect. I was actually able to enjoy the scene and not be distracted with all the adjustments! Pure joy! Worth the investment. Better than a telescope. Get a good, strong tripod also. Don't cheap out on the tripod. It's a life time investment. Enjoy!

I was looking for a monopod that I could use for product photos and for moon photos. Most of the monopods that I have used are very flexible. This one is very stiff. Customer Service at B&H were very helpful in helping me select this monopod.

My first shots with this lens were handheld moon photos. The detail is amazing, my family was asking where I found those moon shots and they were surprised when I told them I took them. I have also been shooting wildlife and I am very impressed with the speed to focus, but more so the silence of the motor. If you did not see the image change you may not know it has focused. I was surprised by the size and weight of this lens, it is rather heavy. Thankfully Pentax included the tripod mount attachment to better balance the load.

I've had this Nikon 70-300 lens for years and couldn't figure out why pictures were still shaky even on a tripod. I tried to take photos of the moon. They were ok but still not sharp. So after searching the net I finally found the 293 support. In Aust, where I live the price was too high or no stock available. B and H have the right price and excellent service. We have a full moon at the moment so last night I set up the 293 and finally got some sharper photos. Still have some minor adjustments to make to get the bracket centred but I'm sure this device will be the right thing.Thanks for the great service from across the planet. I have been using a celestron evolution 8 telescope with a separate wedge since 3 years. Ive had two main issues with that scope.  Firstly its heavy and bulky. together with wedge, it weights 27 kgs (60 lbs). I could bear the weight first few weeks but later on, when the first excitement is gone, the scope became a house furniture which I used few times a year for taking photos of moon through open windows. Second, it has field curvature up to a degree I could not bear with when I take lunar photos. If I focus the center of the moon, the edges would be blurry and vice versa. With this nexstar 4se, both problems are gone.  I lost a bit of aperture but the moon, the sun and few planets are so bright that a little dimming is not a big issue for me. Besides, contrast of this maksutov scope is better than my SCT. Field curvature is also a lot less. I can almost focus clearly on all disc of moon so my lunar photos look better. Weight is only 10kg (22 lbs) with powerbank and accessories. its a grab and go scope. It comes with me when I go camping. I will sell my 8 SCT. So happy so far

I was very pleasantly surprised with this lens. I am an amateur photographer and wanted to take some photos of the moon at night. I took it out the first night I received it, and was impressed with the sturdiness of the build as it is built of all metal. It fits to the camera with a converter and mounts to the tripod on the lens. The lens and camera fit strongly together and I do not have any fears of the camera falling off the lens while mounted. I look forward to using this lens more in the future.

The images of the moon with this, is unreal!! I can't believe what I was watching. The photos were so close, it looks as if I were standing right in front of it. Every concealable detail was exposed, AWSOME!!!!
