I often record in my apartment or at the studio where I work - there is a ton of background noise like traffic, air conditioners, and creaky floors. The high pass filter for perfect for filtering those consistent background hums. Of course, a little fancy editing too. Arrived right in the delivery window, customer service from B&H is great as always.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This has been a lifesaver especially during the summer when everyone is blasting their fans and air conditioners and risking outages. I’ve had my power go out multiple times in a span of a week and I had enough time to save everything I needed to. The size also helps as my small apartment is already pretty cramped.

I have been using Furman power conditioners for many years, mainly to provide a portable power strip with reasonably clean power. Providing adjustable light to rack components in often dim stage conditions is more than welcome too. I use the Furman with short ANSI power cables (12") to minimize the clutter in the backside of the rack. At 12" in depth, the backside of the Furman is short enough to clear the rear cover, yet long enough to reach without skinning my knuckles. Kudos! Furman. How about a 1-space Furman UPS?

For a small investment, a great uplift for my portrait pics. Light and portable for travel. Convenient pouch.

Using for portable portrait shoots. Attaching small to large umbrellas, including portable umbrella style softboxes in combo with Nikon SB800/SB900 flashes. Love the carabiner concept - I wrap a narrow velcro strap around my flash battery packs and then loop it through carabiner, then simultaneously around Pocket Wizards. P-Wizard neck strap is knotted with a small loop and also strung through carabiner for back up protection (see pics). The click angle positioning is nice and solid. I bought these likewise for the 8 offset angle that helps aim the flash more toward the center of the umbrella (see pics). The mechanism to hold the umbrella shaft is a concave seat, positive and solid. I really like the spring-loaded lock design for attaching to the light stand. Even with the mount knob un-threaded all the way, the Varos Pro S holder will not release completely from stand adapter UNLESS the spring-loaded button is pushed in. Brilliant! Compared to cheapy $4 holders, the shoe mount is beefy and feels solid when securing my expensive flashes. All threads feature a smooth long travel; spun to final lock down they provide a sense of assurance. The overall feel of the Varos Pro S is quality. Very pleased. Wish they came in black though.

I have had a number of Furman power conditioners in the past 30 years. The pl has always been my favorite. I have had some cheaper power conditioners also and they are not conditioners whatsoever. All they are.. are exaggerated power strips.. and when you pick them up you will see the weigh less than a pound.. because most of the electronics are missing in the chassis. Not so with the Furman units. Furman units are very heavy because they have actual electronics in them like filters and other things that are going to be making sure the power is conditioned correctly. They shut down upon overload and the filter make sure there is no buzz or hum in the line. You cannot go wrong with a PL plus and B&H has the lowest price in the country!!
