Pioneer Elite Receiver Speaker Setup

Was a Pioneer fan boy till their Elite receiver and Blu Ray player failed me after 2 yrs of usage. Read allot of recommendations about Denon and decided to try their 5.2 A/V receiver offering. My 'Sierra 2' sounded so alive and present now with the headroom to go more. What a difference in sound.

Replaced an 8 year old Pioneer Elite, SC68. Cost 1/5 and looks and sounds better!

Huge difference now watching anything from movies to tv to the fm tuner. Using a pioneer elite to push everything.

My set-up consists of a Pioneer Elite VSX-23, zone 2 powering (2) DT 6500's to my front patio (30' x 30'). My speaker placement is under the eves against the wall (bass radiator reflecting to the wall) and the speakers centered and projecting to my listening area. After some break-in, the speakers really shine at moderate volume's producing balanced, clean sound that's fills my listening space. The Hi's are crisp, Mid's are detailed and the Bass is strong. Crank up the power and at high volumes you can projected another 100 feet beyond. The speakers look and sound great and hide well under the eve's...

Delighted with this Blu Ray player. My previous Blu Ray player was Pioneer Elite's flagship BDP-09 and other than a rather slow shutdown process, this player is phenomenal!

Absolutely fabulous set. Made a big jump from a Pioneer Elite plasma set which was as good as it got back in 2010 and this is a whole other level. Started with the 65” but returned it and got the 77” instead and am very happy I did.

I bought the PST-8 to use with my newly purchased Pioneer Elite Pro-111FD plasma display. Right off the bat, I noticed that it was if a veil over the picture had been lifted and the images displayed by the flat panel appeared to have much less noise than before. Any hint of graininess to the picture quality had been removed and images just looked much cleaner. As an audiophile with a $+ stereo system, I am very familiar with power conditioning products and this particular model seems to do a heck of a lot of things right, and offers amazing build quality as well, especially at the price. I have not tried this with my audio-only system, but the Furman worked great with my new Pioneer Elite display. Very highly recommended.

My Signature Elite ES50 speakers sound awesome. I have them hooked up to a 70W receiver which is plenty of juice for these speakers. The bass is just enough for me. The speakers look great in my room. I think these speakers are excellent value for the money. In my opinion you could pay much more and get negligible improvement.

I bought the Yamaha A-S301 to replace an aging 1998 Pioneer receiver. The Yamaha delivers more solid bass. Perhaps less treble, but less treble distortion. For example, you can distinguish between different crash or ride cymbals. Horn sections are very clear, without harshness. I listen mostly to CDs, so the optical input is nice. I use efficient Klipsch R-820F tower speakers, so the Yamaha has plenty of headroom.
