Pipe Medieval Wind Instruments

I use this mic to record string and wind (brass mostly) instruments. The different patterns make it effective in a variety of spaces depending on whether you want to reject other sounds or include reflections. Versatile and great sound quality. 5 |

I like wind instruments. This is that and so much more. Nice features make playing sound like the real thing. Tried it all but haven't used it as a midi controller yet 5 |

You may ask yourself (as I did) how to justify the price of this track vs old fashioned Schedule 80 Aluminum Pipe. If you own a Grip Truck then no big deal, but if you drive a car well then ... The problem with regular pipe is the compromises you make in carrying pieces short enough to fit in your vehicle. I was considering just using shorter pieces of aluminum pipe with the "70ES Locking Splices" to join them together. That would require multiple pipes, multiple 70ES Splices, drilling a bunch of holes and buying a Carrying Case. At the end of the day, the "DIY" method would have been cheaper financially, but also cheaper performance wise, assembly wise and aesthetically. I decided to just get the Official Dana Dolly Track and I'm glad I did! It goes together quickly and seamlessly (very smooth rolling) better on both counts than the 70ES Splices would have been. Also, it looks much more professional than DIY Aluminum Pipe with holes drilled in the sides for the Splices. It packs up into a relatively small bag and is easy to throw in the trunk. It allows me to have a fairly long track run available for the client in case needed, something that wasn't possible with regular pipe. 5 |

Took this lens out for a couple of days thinking I would go back and forth between this and other lenses. Wonderful for tight confines of Medieval European streets and squares. During my photo excursions I never changed lenses. My very minor frustration is that if the sun is in the frame there is a good chance that it will blow out some of the highlights. A neutral density filter or lowering the exposure setting helps in these instances. Love the lens 5 |

It is light, and makes a heavy super telephoto lens feel like a feather. It makes ball heads seem medieval. 5 |

I use my cameras for landscape photography as well as for pet portraits and action shots, and for action shots at places like Medieval Faires. At this price point I do not see how you can go wrong with the Pentax K-x. Shutter lag is almost non existent. Focusing is fast except for in low light (almost dark) conditions. It can take maintain focus and take multiple shots in burst mode with ease. The multituide of settings which range from full automatic to full manual give you as much or as little control over the camera as you so choose. Do NOT let the use of AA lithium or rechargebale batteries frighten you. As long as you make sure you are running the latest firmware battery life will not be an issue. I run my equipment hard with extended on time (During 4 hours at a Medieval Faire the camera will be on for more than two hours of actual time) waiting for that right moment and I am still on the first set of batteries after more than a week and perhaps 200 actual images taken. The kit lense is fairly good. Do expect to pick up a Class 6 to Class 10 memory card to take full advantage of this camera's lightning speed in burst mode. You will not regret the few extra dollars spent. High ISO performance is as good as others have stated. Surprisingly good in fact. Negatives? I wish the informational display in the viewfinder was a little larger and a little brighter. The K-x can have difficulty focusing in near dark conditions on the normal settings (Night scene mode not engaged)and in low contrast conditions, but that is true of many cameras. Some reviewers state that the image stabilization is not all that great. I have found it to be more than adequate for my needs. This is a great not so entry level DSLR camera at a very reasonable price point. 5 |
