I bought this DVD Drive to go along with an ASUS ZenBook Pro UX501VW DS71T laptop which doesn't include an internal DVD drive. This DVD drive is barely the size of a DVD disk. It matches nicely with the laptop. It comes with a software disk and a USB splitter cable (you will need two USB ports available on your computer to use this drive). It is well constructed and functions beautifully. The included software is optional. This drive is plug and play, however, my laptop didn't come with Windows DVD Player software. No Problem... I downloaded a highly downloaded free DVD software suite and it works perfectly. It does what I bought it to do. It is not a blue-ray player though. If that is important to you, you'll need to pick another drive. 5 |

We are using a flash drive to store and playback videos on a portable projector. I tried with a USB 3.0 Flash Drive, thinking the newer version was better. But the projector had a different idea. I learned from the professionals at B+H that this unit requires an older USB 2.0 Flash Drive. I never would have thought of that but sure enough, when I used this Verbatim 64G Ergo USB 2.0, the projector recognized the videos and played them flawlessly. 5 |

We bought this for a kids outdoor “drive -in” movie party- it was plug and play Very easy set up - projects a long distance with no loss of clarity - sharp focus and good saturation of color. Although I considered renting a projector instead - I am Glad we bought this one ! 5 |

I purchased a gaming laptop from B&H and yet it had no DVD drive so I needed one to rip, burn and play movies. I used it for 2 months straight and experienced no problems. It copies (non-protected) DVD's and reads and writes flawlessly. Highly recommended. 5 |

Yes, I still play cds and dvd movies. I am glad I got this drive to rip and burn cds and watch my old dvds. Nice option since the MacBook Pro has no drive. 5 |
