Playing A Vinyl Record

I've always been an mp3/streaming music person for as long as it's been around (after a childhood raised on CDs). It wasn't until I heard an amazing female singer perform live that I made the long-thought decision to finally buy a vinyl record, even though I didn't have a vinyl player. Fast forward, and I'm looking at buying an amp that combines the modern functionality of wireless with the art of playing vinyl (I understand CDs technically have better sound quality than vinyl, but I really enjoy the ritual of playing a record). The Sonos Amp was the perfect solution, compared to other high end brands, that offered a future simple home theatre set up, along with wireless, multi-room upward compatibility. I bought two bookshelf speakers that works incredibly well with the amp and I love the convenience of being able to stream podcasts and music from my iPhone or laptop straight to the amp. My only issue is with the Sonos App, which still needs some work.

Playing a lot more music, vinyl, CDs via Brennan and streaming. Hearing new detail given the superior sound quality. Great companion with IPad although may be limiting if you didn't own one. Double edged sword although the quality of the Five could lead to you spending more on upgrading your setup further.

I had one Sonos 5 for a couple of years, playing streamed music and vinyl. With the addition of a second, the music is transformed. The stereo sound is amazing with deep bass notes and crisp highs.

I collected 45's as a kid spending most of my allowance on whatever radio tune had my ear that week. I had maybe 100 or so LP's over the years but jumped on cassettes and then CDs as they came out. Here it is 40+ years after my last allowance was spent and I've decided to start collecting vinyl again. My girlfriend gifted me a Jensen turntable and a couple of records a few years ago for my birthday and I used it periodically picking up vinyl at yard sales and the like. The sound playing through my stereo was marginal with no bottom end and got me to thinking about how much I like the ritual of playing records and I wanted them to sound better. Long lead in but that's what got me looking into a turntable upgrade. I did the educate yourself as a consumer and wound up selecting this one based on reputation, reviews and price point. I made a great choice. Set up required some research to balance and align the tone arm correctly but there are several good vids online that detail what to do. Going to the record store to browse is a throwback to my youth. For the casual listener this turntable is more than adequate.

A good, quick way for me to get back into vinyl. Had it assembled and playing in less than an hour. Have used all the outputs, sound quality is very good however you connect it. Seems to be a solid build, I don't have much fear of it breaking down. If you bring your ear near to it while it plays you can hear the motor running, and while it starts or stops there is a lot of clack-sproing-whirr. It's not a delicate audiophile instrument, but then I didn't want to deal with a counterweight or calibrating anti-skate manually. This model takes care of all that and has not skipped once. For this price, a good value.

I like the retro style. The manual vinyl record player has a more romantic flavor. The whole is great. We should have it.

In my opinion, record weights do work...I use this consistently while listening to vinyl, and it does help with the sound, at least to my ears. As one should note, it will not help with severely warped records.
