This is my 3rd generation of WD NAS units currently running. They get bigger and faster with every one I buy, but they are all still running great. I like it much better (no comparison) than the odd ball Seagate NAS in the picture. I will buy more WD units as needed. Very easy to setup, about as hard as falling off a log. I store digital media including audio and video on these units and stream it on my home network to any TV in the house with ease. I can have multiple TVs streaming the same movie at the same time without issue. The transfer time runs at about 112 mb/s from my PC to the PR4100 which is over twice as fast as my 1st gen EX units which only run at about 46 mb/s over my network. I also use it for my daily backup of my PC and can store anything I like on them. I dump all my pictures from our phones to it also so they don't run out of space. I can't say anything bad about them. I have only had 1 drive fail that I had to replace in all the years I have had them and it was very easy to swap out and was even covered on warranty. Once swapped, it will automatically rebuild the drive for you. You won't go wrong with one of these. 5 |
