Podcasting Microphone Reduce Computer Fan Sound

Very pleased with the quality of sound I get from this microphone, which I use mostly for podcasting. USB 2 connection works fine with USB 3 hub, not direct connection to machine. Feels very solid.

My wife and I picked this microphone up to do some podcasting and theatrical sound design. It's a bit heavy, but it's a dream to use: we just plug it into a laptop and we have a portable recording studio. The sound quality is better than anything we've owned before. I've used some professional microphones before, but this is the first one I've owned. The bidirectional setting is particularly useful--sounds from in front and in back of the mic pick up loud and clear, but computer fans and meowing cats to either side are nigh-inaudible in the recording. I'd say this is the best microphone you can get in this price range.

I've used this microphone for voiceover and podcasting the quality of sound recorded in 24 bit 192khz is unbelievable. This microphone is durable and I would like to suggest to make the next model more slim and less weight.

If you know, you know. This microphone is the best you can get. I use it for podcasting as well as some video work. Invest in your equipment.

Purchased for a podcast microphone to use with Macs. Needed to reduce the cave sound we were getting with the internal microphones for use with Bomb Bomb video email and podcasting. Works very well. Used with Logic Pro to record a grand piano, on the fly, a couple of days ago. Works well for that too. Great purchase.

B&H delivered again! Great product at the best price. Unlike many reviews on the internet complaining of a loud fan noise my fan only runs when using the battery. I called APC and they said the fan problem was fixed with a hardware upgrade. My unit was factory tested in Jan. of 2010. I Don't know if it was fixed before then or not? It sounds like a floor fan on high. (Not annoying) I really like the LCD screen on the front. I can turn it on or off and flip through different live stats. The UPS doesn't come with the CD but the management software is easily downloadable from APC. I have mine connected to my editing/render computer (Intel Quad-core Nvidia graphics card 2+ TB of Hard drives). For light CPU and video usage I have 40+ min. of run time. During high power times I have 20-30. More than enough time to finish what I'm working on or start the generator. The alarm settings are great. I can choose what hours of the day that I don't want it to sound. It also knows when the computer is off and won't sound unless you want it to.
