Great machine...newly used so time will tell...but so far very impressed. Set up was a breeze...and it updated the software quickly within the first hour of turning on. Unit has 2 USB ports and 4 Thunderbolt ports...so...if you plan on hooking up more than 2 USB devices standard way...think again. Get yourself either 4 Thunderbolt USB cables or 4 Thunderbolt Type C to USB extenders cables to hook your standard USB cables to. We purchased the Type C to USB extenders from a third party and they work just fine. Unit is slightly bigger than older previous Mac mini's but the height is shorter on the new ones...so it's a slight compromise...no big deal. Silent operation as usual, HDMI port is a great feature and works flawlessly. We used an existing apple mouse and keyboard which were recognized...although the keyboard wasn't recognized so easily...but somehow seems to be working...so we're going with it. No problems dealing with B&H...fast and reliable company it seems. Will do business with them again in future.

After searching for and testing several monitors (Dell, LG) for photo editing, I finally landed on the BenQ PD2725U, and I'm glad that I did. It's a beautiful monitor in every way, especially for my primary purpose: photo editing. The image quality is absolutely gorgeous, and the colors appear to be as rich and true as I could ever hope. The hockey puck takes a little getting used to, but after awhile it seems easy and seamless to make adjustments, or change the color settings. The only difficulty I had was with the monitor's initial setup - BenQ shipped DisplayPort, HDMI, Thunderbolt, and USB Type A to Type B cables, but not the one I needed (USB-C) to connect my recent vintage laptop. After futzing around with the Thunderbolt cable, I finally realized that it just wasn't going to work, and went out and bought a new cable. For a $845 monitor, I was a little disappointed that it didn't include one of the most commonly used cables. Otherwise, I'm extremely pleased with the monitor.

I'm using this with a 13" MacBook Pro using the usb-c connection. I wasn't sure it would work with the Thunderbolt connection, but it does! Monitor comes with cables, usb-c and HDMI. I tried another brand but it didn't work with a MacBook . This works great. Highly recommend!

I realized that not all cables with the USB-C type connector are the same. I use this thunderbolt cable connected to my CFExpress card reader and it makes a world of difference in the download times. So, i ended up purchasing more than 1 to keep around. If you search on the data transfer rates for USB-C 3.2 vs thunderbolt, there is no comparison. The thunderbolt rate is at least 4x on paper, more in real life.

With everything having USB-C connectors, everything from Thunderbolt 3/4 to 10GB/s USB cables to simple USB charging cables I needed to make sure I hade suitable cables to go between my Thunderbolt 4 Ports, ... hat did not break the bank. I've had always had reasonable good fortune with OWC products.

Thunderbolt cables will not work when connecting to pre-thunderbolt Macs. This was truly plug and play.

Got this to connect my XPS 13 from 2016/2017 to my 27" thunderbolt Apple monitor. It worked straight out of the box. However I have a Dell TB16 dock as well. Tried using that as well. So the dock's usb-c connector goes into the XPS, and the Startech adapter goes from the dock to the Thunderbolt monitor. That didn't work: I needed to update the BIOS, Thunderbolt firmware, thunderbolt driver, and installed I believe the latest thunderbolt application from the Intel website. Everything works now, even the audio and usb ports on the monitor. (facetime camera doesn't work, since it can't find a driver). All in all good buy, but I can't connect my 2019 macbook Pro to my thunderbolt monitor with the startech adapter. Monitor does not activate. Seems to only work with Windows machines.

For years my work flow has relied on a thunderbolt connection and I was concerned that the new USB type-c/Thunderbolt 3 was going to be a major ordeal to adapt to. It wasn't. All I needed was this adapter. Thanks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a sample of the Thunderbolt 3 Cables in exchange for my unbiased review of the product. I work remotely and keep cables with me, so that I can be very productive with file transfers. These type c to usb cables are great. They transfer data fast and effectively. You can use these cables for a variety of applications. I use mine to connect my Hp windows pc to my external monitor.

For thunderbolt 4, it works extremely well. It surprisingly did not work as well over USB-C 3.2 on my Linux machine running PopOS as well as the stardock USB-C dock did which was surprising to me (but maybe it shouldn't have been?) For best performance, you do want to go to their support website and install the kernel extensions and the docking manager. You may need to reboot the Mac if it's your first time connecting it. Other than that, it works exactly like you would expect it to. I used the built in display port and then an HDMI to usb-c cable that feeds into one of the thunderbolt 4 ports. On my M1 16 inch MacBook Pro, it handles both displays (and it's own built in screen if opened) exactly like you would expect it to. However, my M1 Mac mini would only ever output my first display via DP and ignored the hdmi to usb-c input. For that, I had to use the dedicated HDMI port on the mini and then it worked. Take that for what you will but it seems to have nothing to do with Caldigit (and no the DisplayLink Manager didn't fix anything either for the Mac mini despite the aforementioned stardock usb-c only dock being able to do 2 with the software running, I think it's a thunderbolt 4/M1 thing though). The construction is rock solid, the metal feels nice and it's actually pretty small for as many ports are packed into this thing. I've been trying to get it since March and it was well worth the wait
