Works very well on an electrical receptical and has the optional car plug adapter. I have not yet needed to use the car adapter but look forward to having that option.

This headlamp is literally used for everything from replacing electrical outlets in a house and working on a car, to BBQing on a weekend and hiking in the Sierra Nevadas. Won't ever need another headlamp; although, I've gifted one and bought another as a back-up.
