Great all around bag for photography, or taking the icu out and using it as a regular bag. Light enough, supportive and comfortable.

I packed my large ICU with my camera equipment & put my Innorel tripod in the side pouch, I realized that this was going to be heavy. I have had two back surgeries, but when I put the backpack on, it actually felt lighter. I have to say that it was worth every penny & the one month wait, to get this backpack. Would I recommend this to others? I would insist that they buy this backpack. Thank you Shimoda & B&H photovideo.

I went from the smaller f-stop backpack and a smaller ICU to this and the XL. Perfect for XL ICU and 600mm, shorter lenses & body

I have a Shimoda backpack and really liked its quality, but I was looking for a more comfortable way to transport my camera gear when traveling, especially through airports. After reading many reviews, I decided to buy this bag. The quality of the bag is great and fits the ICU perfectly. The bag fits my gear perfectly and makes transportation a lot easier. I have both a large and medium ICU’s, so this gives me a lot of options for packing the bag. I wasn’t use I was going to like the doctor bag style opening, but it turned out to be better for me than the traditional side zippers.

Most camera bags have a painfully critical weak spot - they're big but designed ONLY to hold camera equipment. Any trip that involves a hike of more than a couple miles begs the question - where do I put my lunch? Even if there was enough room in the bag, stuffing a PB&J between the lenses just doesn't feel like a good idea. I specifically searched out a bag that would hold a lot of equipment with a separate area for food. This one's perfect - setup the ICU partitions as you would most other bags, drop it in, and put a stuffsack/drybag with a full day's worth of food right on top. Side pockets can fit water bottles. The large ICU included in this bundle has about exactly the same capacity as my big classic Lowepro bag. The insert holds my full kit: Camera with 100-400 tele and 1.4 extender, a wide angle lens, a 50, a 100 mm macro AND rail, cleaning kit and a few filters. I can hit the trail ready for landscapes, wildlife, close-ups, and any impromptu portrait work. Of course, most missions are more specialized - I'm considering adding a medium ICU to balance camera/non camera space more equally. This could conceivably even allow a one or two-night backpacking trip, with tent and bag strapped to the outside. When using the large ICO, the topmost area is still partially covered when the rear panel is open. Plan for this when setting up partitions. The strap and belt system is up there with any high-end day pack or backpack, unlike most camera bags, where the straps seem like an afterthought. Everything about this bag screams quality construction. If you want to carry a lot of gear for miles AND actually have lunch - this is the bag!
