I purchased to use as portable storage for photographic images. I use it with a 24 iMac under Snow Leopard and have been very happy with it. It came ready to use with windows but converting it was a piece of cake. I was using it in about 10 minutes. One of my objectives was to be able to exchange images with my daughter. She operates under Windows. I, as I have indicated, use Mac OS X. Formatting it as FAT 32 did the trick. I would say that this product exceeded my expectations ... even my hopes. I have only had this product for a few days but it looks well built. I expect it to be reliable. It does operate as quickly as one would expect, given that it has a USB 2 interface. Plenty fast for my application. My next storage purchase was to buy a 3TB backup disk for my system. After my experience with this device, the decision was easy. I ordered a WD disk. 5 |
