It connected the DisplayPort on my computer to the HDMI port on my monitor.

WOW! I bought a fancy new LG monitor here at B&H to use as an external monitor for my 2017ish upgraded MacBook Air. This was a recommended product I tossed in my shopping cart because of its mention of the Mini DisplayPort connectivity. THRILLED I did because it came a day after my new monitor ... and in the mean time, I tried two other cords I had lying around with rather bogus results: 1) Old cord #1 was a Mini DisplayPort (Thunderbolt 1 version) to HDMI — Fuzzy as heck but no lag or mouse-move jitter 1) Old cord #2 was HDMI to HDMI cord fitted with Mini DisplayPort adapter — Crystal clear but horrifically laggy and jittery display Obviously I'm not technical but I recommend buying this cable even if you have various options in your electronics junk drawer at home that you think will work ... they might not!

I don't know what the haters have been smoking, but obviously they haven't educated themselves... I've been using the DisplayPort 1.2 setting in the monitor menu and using a DisplayPort 1.2+ capable cable since 2018 with no issues running the monitor at 4k at 60hz since 2018. I think the haters haven't even opened their settings menus to confirm if they're using the highest version of DisplayPort on their monitor lol. It takes 15 seconds to navigate to the menu, if it's not working then switch your DP cable because you're probably rocking a 1.1 or less version that's been sitting in your closet for too long. This is one of the best value 4k monitors besides using a small 4k value tv. It has impressive color range and accuracy with 10 bit color vs the usual 8 bit you'll see even modern tvs still using, and if you haven't made the switch to 4k or even 1440p yet and wonder if the difference is worth it, trust me I have a fine pair of glasses on and the difference in clarity is night and day resolution wise for reading text like this and detail for movie viewing is quite nice and the viewing angles are amazing for value LED, the next step up from here is getting a higher refresh rate 4k oled for me eventually.

On my mac mini 2018 with a 4k monitor, I swapped an HDMI to HDMI cable with this thunderbolt to displayport cable. Huge difference! Before, the entire display was sluggish and unresponsive. Now, the picture is sharp, and the UI is smooth and responsive.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an amazing monitor! I am so in love with the massive size and the super high quality that it displays. The design is beautiful and it looks like a piece of art. I’m so glad I got the 32 inch size instead of the 34 because it would have made my peripheral view uncomfortable with my setup. So make sure that you take size into account according to your desk setup. I can tilt and rotate the screen with its base in any way I need it and that is a huge plus! The stand is a space hog so make sure you have a deep desk to make use of it, otherwise you’d have to either mount it to the wall or use another desk mount. Gaming and watching videos, well, it’s unimaginably breathtaking! It comes with the necessary cables (HDMI, DisplayPort, USB Up-Stream) and a U clip that lets you route your mouse cable through it and it clips to either the left or right side of the bottom frame. Also, you might have some issues with entering Bios with the monitor using DisplayPort, so if you do, just do a search for CSM, secure boot or DisplayPort fix. It lets you select through different viewing modes like for gaming, HDR, reading, etc. which makes me love it even more. I connected my speakers directly to it and it also has 2 USB Down-stream ports that I connect my mouse or keyboard to. I have also connected my PS5 and Xbox Series X to play and of course I’m blown away! This is the best monitor ever and it’s such a great pleasure to own. I highly recommend it and you won’t be disappointed in the investment! Disclaimer: I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinions.

First be sure to get the IOGEAR DisplayPort 1.4 Male Cable to get 60hz refresh rate. A standard HDMI will only give you 30hz and the monitor will feel sluggish and pixelated. Second, wow, what a bargain. I bought this monitor for photo editing and I'm blown away with the clarity, color, and vibrancy. Albeit, it was a big upgrade from my 10 year old monitors, but I really couldn't ask for anything better. I even played a few games that ran smooth as butter. I might even buy a second one.

I had thought I was getting a monitor that 1) had a mini DisplayPort but it is DisplayPort (they are different but that's on me) and 2) was adjustable in height (it is not—also on me for not reading the description more carefully). Neither of these is a problem for my wife, who is using this monitor, and she is very pleased with the size and quality of the image (she does primarily writing and finance work). I'll need to get a different cable to be able to plug it in to the DisplayPort (I'm currently using a VGA-to-USB-C adapter directly into the computer whereas the dock she uses only has a miniDisplayPort—the cable is cheap so not a big deal). I do graphic design so my first instinct when I turned it on was that the image was too bright and the colors a little muted (the adjustments I made didn't change this too dramatically although I got it better...) but this is not surprising as it is not a very expensive monitor. My wife, however, doesn't need high resolution or rich colors and is completely happy. As long as you read the description more carefully than I did and the monitor suits your needs, I think you'll be happy with this monitor.

The Pearstone DisplayPort 2.1. DP40 is a great cable for my 4k monitor. It looks like a normal cable but it has some serious stats to it. It can handle up to 8k at 30hz or 4k at 144hz as well as carrying HDR10+ and Dolby vision. If you are a gamer this cable is a great high performance cable. The build quality seems solid too. Gold-plated connectors are always a nice touch, and the PVC jacket feels durable. At 6.6 feet long, it's got enough reach for most setups without being overkill. All in all, if you need a reliable, high-performance DisplayPort cable, this Pearstone one is definitely worth checking out. [I received this item in exchange for my honest review]
