[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow! The first word that comes to mind when I cracked open the new JBL Clip 5 from Harman. How can all that sound come from such a small package?!? Let me explain... The new and revised Clip 5 offering from JBL offers many upgrades from previous models including better battery life, connectivity, and a larger/durable 'clip' (carabiner) opening to accommodate more areas in which to use this roughly 6x4x2 inch speaker! The sound is potent with punchy bass emitting from a frequency range of 95hz-20Khz. The sound is nothing short of astounding but also lives up the the JBL reputation of bigger isn't always better. The small palm-of-your-hand sized frame (which is dust and WATER proof) is rugged and can take abuse from most any outdoor activity in which it is used. Battery life is up to 12hrs with an additional 3hrs of playtime when you turn Playtime Boost (in the JBL Portable App) to the off setting... all this with just a minimal 3 hour charge time from a supplied USB-A to USB-C connecting cable. The cable is short but does the trick and you must supply a wall USB-A compatible charging block yourself. The speaker is able to be connected to other JBL Portable devices thru AuraCast and the JBL app for a complete party on the go.. whether you're fishing, swimming, beaching, off-roading, partying, or just relaxing.. it just works! I did have trouble when first trying to connect the speaker to the JBL Portable App but soon discovered a quick update of the App fixed all connectivity issues. The Clip 5 does come in a variety of colors but whatever the color... this thing just ROCKS! The main use I have for the speaker is in my shower. My mornings are started with a bang from this potent little monster! Well worth every penny just as other JBL speakers I have in my collection. The JBL/Harman name is simply synonymous with quality sound and craftsmanship!

The sounds is very clear and the volume control was easy to use. The volume can get pretty loud when turning it up which worked great when I was on the beach. With wave and wind noise, I had no problem hearing the music. You can also set the volume to pretty quiet if you just want some light background music while at home. I love that it is water and dust resistant which is great for going outside. The charging port is covered well so you don’t have to worry about moisture or dust getting in. The battery last long! The battery lasts for hours and hours, and I love that you can hit the “BATT” button and it tells you how much longer the battery life is. It is also quick to charge which is nice when you are short for time. I like that you can have it standing up or put it on its side. The sound quality is great either way. It is also easy to take calls from it. The sounds quality is great for calls and the caller was able to hear me well on the other line. Hanging up is easy too by just clicking the call button one time. Overall, I really love this Bluetooth speaker. I love that it is wireless, portable, durable, and has great sound quality.

Love how easy it was to pair with my iPhone with little effort. Immediately started playing the music I had open on my phone. Battery lasts a long time for multiple uses.

It's expensive but super, I have the old Sonos One and a Bose Portable speaker as well, I wish I'd bought a Sonos Move instead of the Bose then I could control all three using the Sonos App, however, I can use Apple Music and AirPlay 2. I like to play the spacial music on the Era 300 but I can only do that if I play the music through one speaker. I have a Sonos One in the computer/back bedroom, the Era 300 in the dining area and the Bose in the rarely used family room, near the patio doors so I can take it on the front porch. They all sound OK with the Era 300 superb.

This portable speaker sounds excellent for it's size. Don't expect it to out preform a good set of bookself speakers and a receiver. However if you're tired of listening to your music library on phone speakers and want something that has way better sound quality and dynamic range then say a 90s style boom box this is perfect. I love being able to play my music library out loud again and actually hear the music. I highly recommend it.

For a portable Bluetooth speaker, this product is outstanding. The quality of the sound, depth of the base makes the music that much more enjoyable. This speaker really pumps out the sounds beyond expectation.
