I use this to play music over arena PA systems for kids hockey games. Works great as all we have available to us is an XLR mic, simply hook this up with an iPod/iPad and away you go. I always use it with a line out dock connector, NOT THE HEADPHONE JACK, and it works 100%. The gain adjustment on the line in is great for making sure the sound is not over powering. Initially encountered an issue with the HDMI, the blacks weren't deep, but figured out that my PC needed to output full RGB colors to get the deep blacks, it defaulted to limited color for some reason. The settings to fix that issue will vary from systems to systems, but you can search "How to Avoid Washed Out Colors When Using HDMI on Your PC" to find an article on a few ways to fix it. Aside from that, I'm happy with the purchase, but gaming isn't great for fast-paced/competitive games, but it's awesome for adventure/single-player games. Some wishes for the next iteration: less reflective screen, 90+Hz for better PC gaming, QD-OLED would be interesting in this size, stronger speakers, and adaptive sync would be cool. 5 |
