Power Outlet Internet Extender

Just one caution. If there's a power failure, you must unplug and replug both the adapter and extender to again establish Internet connection. It's not necessary to reenter the password.

Ordering and Shipping - B&H Photo shipped the product on time and it arrive undamaged and well protected in the box. Product - The Eve Energy Outlet arrived in new condition in unopened retail packaging. The package includes the outlet, faceplate, and wire nuts for installation. Installation - You will need a neutral wire in order to successfully install the Eve Energy Outlet. The device itself is thicker than a regular outlet, so a shallow electrical box won't work. A regular or deep electrical box is best. Follow the included instructions and you should not have any problems. Setup - After the Eve Energy Outlet is installed and power has been turned back on, the device can be paired in the normal way for your home automation system. I'm using Apple Home, and the pairing through the Apple Home app is as simple as taking a picture of the pairing QR code. The device is initially created as a group of two outlets in Apple Home. Turning the device on / off changes the state of both outlets. You will need to ungroup the device in Apple Home if you want to control each outlet individually. The buttons on the front can also be used to manually turn the outlets on / off. They are somewhat small and will be very difficult to press when both outlets have something plugged into them. The Eve Energy Outlet responds very quickly to requests in the Apple Home app to turn the individual outllets on / off. It has never dropped out of the Apple Home system, and it reconnects quickly after power outages. Speaking of power outages, each plug in the outlet will return to its prior on/off state after a power interruption. Overall - This is an excellent smart outlet with solid build quality, quick response times, and a straightforward / easy installation process.

The TP-Link AV600 Powerline Adapter is a little jewel for extending a wired Internet connection. Simply plug one unit into an AC wall outlet near a router and the other unit into an AC wall outlet in the area where one wants a wired Internet connection. Then, connect the unit by the router to the router with an Ethernet cable. Next, connect the other Powerline adapter to the device, e.g. computer, with another Ethernet cable. Now, one has a wired connection to the router. It works seamlessly by using the electrical wiring in one's building.

I have PL1200. Bought and installed PLP2000 with outlet passthrough. Compared internet speed. PL1200 = 64 mbps. PLP2000 = 74 mbps. Speed different based upon browser, but always 10%-15% faster with PLP2000. I have 4 PL1200's, but I'm thinking of adding 2 more PLP2000's and eliminating the PL1200's. The PLP2000's work great. Both PL1200 & PLP2000 considerably faster than Wi-Fi, and I feel more secure, sine there is no outside transmission. The network is through my electrical wiring in my house. I would highly recommend.

I like that it is small and it doesn’t take up a lot of space. It also has 3 USB-A ports and a 5 foot cord. It would be great for a student desk. I bought the Nighthawk router and it has been my best internet investment. I've had problems with my old router just thinking I needed to buy a wifi extender. I bought another wifi extender again believing hat was the issue but finally got this Nighthawk router. It works so well in my 2000 square feet apartment that I don't even need the extenders. You won't be sorry for buying this! It's affordable and works so well!

With a basement router location I couldn't get internet in the living room or on the back porch, both of which are on slabs. Set-up was straightforward and finding a suitable location was a bit like Goldilocks but only took an extra few minutes. This extender now lets us enjoy internet and tv viewing in places we would like to spend more time. The only fault I have is the size and brightness of the lights, which assists set up hughly makes the extender a bit too obvious unless the selected remote electrical outlet is readily accessible and otherwise easily obscured.
