We didn't know if our cell service would work in the Grand Canyon (t-mobile - it was spotty) and decided to try the radios when 1/2 the family was on the rim and my daughter and I hiked down to Indian Garden (4.9 miles, 3000 feet). It worked for us when we checked in from the garden and at our other points to give an ETA to meet at the trail head.� We used the hi-power GMRS mode (I have a license that covers our family) and my wife and other daughter were always less than 1/2 mile from the rim at the top. 5 |

We purchased the Skyroam for our trip to Europe. It has been a Godsend, we are in a mobile home and as we were driving we had a wifi hotspot with us so we could use our google maps to get us to our destination.
