Presonus Hd7 Studio Monitoring Headphones

I have a small space in my home for my A/V post production studio. Changing the monitoring between all my A/V sources has always been a big pain in the butt. This new monitor station V2 has eliminated all the pain. It's small footprint makes it perfect to sit on my desktop right next to my computers keyboard. The genius designers at Presonus have left nothing out. Plug all the audio sources in, turn it on and you'll have all the same quality monitoring selection choices that you'll find in any million dollar recording or post production studio including S/PDIF. Make sure that you read the well written,completely documented and profusely illustrated Owners manual. The new Presonus Monitoring Station V2 is an excellent product.

Ive used the standard Sony studio monitoring headphones for video production purposes, and while they sound fine, they just dont last very long...ear cup material comes apart or just comes off. The Sennheiser HD 280s are buil to stand up to the riggors of location production applications while providing great isolated sound for monitoring purposes. My only compliant/wish would be for them to switch to a non-coiled headphone cable...gets stretched out if someone decides to wrap it around the earpieces or if it gets shoved into a bag.

I have had the Presonus Audiobox 44 VSL for since March of 2012, and honestly, I had never really turned it off, because it had no off switch. The Audiobox finally starting going out, so I did research and got this PreSonus Studio 24c, and it has been doing an excellent job so far! I use it with Garage Band and my sons use it to do there music for YouTube. I also produce music using PreSonus and it does not disappoint. All of my music on my youtube page was produced using PreSonus AudioBox, and this Studio 24c is vibing just as good, if not better than the AudioBox. I use this model for monitoring and mixing in my studio. These headphones are the best I have ever used and goes right along in the same category as the SM57 microphones. Best sound and amazing price for the performance!

These headphones are great for the price. Perfect for studio and live audio monitoring. We even use them for videography to monitor audio coming into the cameras.

Comparing this to AKG K240 Studio monitoring headphones it is not as good. But it's very close. This was the only headphone I could find with a removable cable at this price point. Sound quality is very good but not excellent. This may be that I haven't broken the headphones in yet, but the sound stage is stiff and the treble with percussion is a bit muddled without good separation like on the AKG. These headphones have more emphasis on the low-end than the AKG 240's though. Comfort-wise these headphones fit better than AKG from the get-go -- it took awhile for the AKG's to loosen and stop squeezing my glasses to my head. However, I wish the pads were slightly bigger or oval shaped to fit the ears more comfortably. The padding is very soft. Another reviewer noted that the Polsen's 32ohm drivers cannot be driven by an iPad, but this is not the case. I had no issues when testing with normal volumes on an iPad Mini 2. The AKG K240's are 55 ohms in comparison and are decidedly quieter. A good purchase for good quality monitoring.

I've never spent this much money on headphones before. I was setting up a new recording studio and I wanted monitoring headphones in my budget. These were almost unanimously recommended, and it makes total sense. They sound fantastic. I don't know enough to give more details, but that's all I can say. I edit voice over work, and this is beyond sufficient for what I'm doing. I even replaced the ear pads, which altered the sound slightly (because of the different foam insert size) and they still sound excellent. Would highly recommend.

This unit from Presonus is a great monitoring solution looking for a problem. It does exactly what the product description says it will do. And it can be daisychained a huge plus.
