Reading the other reviews it seems many have issues getting this to work. I had ZERO issues... Go to the blackmagic website and get the latest version of the software and install it. power off, install card, power on... Done. Run the configuration app to change your settings to match your input/output sources and then launch the DesktopVideo app to start capturing. I used this to capture some old VHS footage without a timebase corrector, so as I expected, really unstable footage was not able to be captured but it was a small percentage. Keep this in mind if you are looking to capture old VHS/8mm. As other reviews stated, the file sizes are huge when capturing, but with contemporary large drives this is not really an issue. Once you compress down the files, a 40GB Vhs capture can be H264 compressed down to about a 700MB Mp4. I also edit with Premiere Pro and use the HDMI out to a standard LED TV to preview what my output will look like on standard display. Quality is good and had no issues. Overall I think the Intensity Pro 4K performs as advertised. Simple install, Ease of use and great quality captures makes this a great purchase. 5 |
