Printed Circuit Board Thermal Chock Failure Rate

This is a great tripod! I've already used it for both a product shoot (printed circuit board) and test equipment screens at work, and took photos of the family at Thanksgiving. The latches are stiff, but should insure a good sturdy support for my camera. The horizontal arm worked great for Macro work. I also have their monopod, a great 'pod for my walks. 5 |

Brother Toner works well in Brother printers; however, OTC generic brands at a much reduced price also work well. That said, there is one application that one requires original Brother toner. That is printing on blue transfer sheets for making printed circuit board etching masks. In this process, one inserts a sheet of blue transfer paper in the Brother printer, and prints the line and land pattern 1:1 scale, on the blue transfer, and then irons the transfer on copper printed circuit board at 300 F. This transfer process does NOT work with generic toner because characteristics of toner fusion and density differ from Brother. Transferred generic media is thin (not dense) and adheres poorly, whereas Brother toner works wonderfully. 5 |

Night and day difference between this and an all circuit board pre... nice and mellow even before it hits the DAW. 5 |

I decided to retire my first warthog throttle after having to replace the main circuit board and noticing how much wear the internals have suffered over the years of daily use. The original still operates well, but it is getting pretty loose in its advance age. These units are built like a bag of hammers, robust and tough. I do really appreciate the upgrade to the slew control over the old design. 5 |

I bought this for providing audio during film shoots. The design seems really tough, all metal construction. Looks like something that could be dropped on the floor a few times and still keep working. Good clean amps, but not a huge amount of gain. A few very minor critiques: uses AAA batteries ( I would have preferred AA as everything else on set uses AA), case is easy to open with ballpoint pin but can be put on backwards and then does not quite lock when closed (either make it impossible to put on backwards or it should lock when on backwards), two internal circuit board switches (mono/stereo and low/high power mode) the low/high power switch is hidden and not easily visible. It is a little awkward to have to access circuit board switches to adjust these settings. Overall very happy with the product. 5 |

This is a solid piece of equipment. It is slightly difficult to install the clip without damaging the circuit board inside, but definitely not impossible. 5 |

I have never been disappointed in the results I've had with Verbatim media. I've had about a .5 percent failure rate. Can't say the same for other brands I've tried. 5 |

You never know when your mac is going to have a hardware failure (hard rive, mother board, etc..) so having the apple care warranty give me peace of mind. And because it is automatically registered when you purchase your mac there is nothing to do. 5 |

I was somewhat concerned by other reviews about some quality control issues with these units. One out of four that I ordered did not communicate with the controllers in radio slave mode. I returned it and it was promptly replaced with one which did. I bought 2 kits with controllers, and 2 single units. Having seen some of this manufacturer's less expensive units I was happily surprised with how well-built these units are. While I don't for a moment discount the significance of a 25% (20%, if you count the replacement unit) failure rate (how can they stay in business at that rate?) I can also say that they do all they are advertised to do, at a fraction of the cost of other radio controlled units. At a cost of less than 1/6 of a name-brand unit, I can even afford to risk a failure (or accidental destruction) in one of these at a rate I could not sustain with the name brands. I have been able to work up a protocol for ganging them with my older Bolts (and presumably any other unit which will fire on an optical slave) which is efficient and gives me more functional units. It works even when the purely manual units are within a sealed environment such as a softbox designed for use with speedlights. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good product, very fast speed and 0 failure rate so far. 5 |
