Ink was fine but printer truly broken. Bought a new HP with ink tank

We saw this printer, the HP Smart Tank 5000, advertised and liked what it said....Ink lasts for 2 years, does it all- scan, copy, print, easy to use, easy to set-up and lightweight. Thus far...ALL GOOD!!!

Unlike traditional printers, for this HP printer with Instant Ink, we don’t need to shop around for the ink (comparing quality, quantity, pricing etc.,). It is so good to know the ink comes to you when the printer is running low on ink. I feel with Instant Ink subscription life is becoming easy and cost effective too. We faced no issues while setting up the printer either, and we had good wireless connectivity. The speed and quality of the prints is also very good, and the prints have good brightness and color. Initial wireless setup was smooth and easy, it has exceeded my expectation (how smoothly it connected and completed). I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion.

I have an HP wireless printer that uses this ink cartridge. I always get superb printed documents.

Even though the initial set up was a little confusing I’m very pleased with its performance. The colors on the print outs look vibrant and I hope the ink will last for a while. The size of the printer is great for small spaces which was one of the reasons I purchased it. Switching from ink cartridges to bottled ink is definitely a game changer. These should last a long time!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a teacher who designs classroom decor products, I was looking for a printer that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg for ink. I go through a LOT. Setting up the HP Smart Tank 5101 All-in-One Printer was a snap. Simply pour the ink into the reservoir (it has a non leak bottle that only dispenses once it is clicked into the right spot), snap in the printer heads, plug in, and go. I was super impressed with the quality of the prints. It even allows for borderless printing. The biggest surprise was how quiet it was while printing. I also currently have an Officejet 7740 (which I LOVE for printing large format posters), but it is very loud. The HP Smart Tank 5101 All-in-One Printer was so quiet while printing. There were only a couple drawbacks: -It does not print in larger paper sizes borderless. At least that I could figure out anyway. It will print legal sized, but not borderless which makes a difference for me when I am printing specialty items. -The black ink bottle contains more than the reservoir can hold (extra is always good), but I was concerned about pulling it out of the upside position and getting ink everywhere. -It does not hold a whole ream of paper in the input tray. I will have to refill the paper tray often when printing in bulk. Obviously those small details aren't a deal-breaker. Overall, this all-in-one printer will be super useful for printing so many classroom decor items. I will be interested to see how long the ink goes before needing replaced and I will update my testimonial at that time. So far, I'm very happy with it.

Impressed with how sleek this HP Smart Tank looks when I took it out of the box. It is not as heavy as my old printer. Note: It does not come with a disc to setup as my old printer did. I had to download the app on my mobile device. You will need to download the app on any device that you would like to print from. I am not a very techy person. I started setting it up at 3pm and by 3:30pm, I was up and running. Printer connected to my wifi pretty easily. I’m super excited that I can now print from my mobile phone. How awesome is that?! I am now able to print from my phone from anywhere in my house (upstairs or downstairs). By the way, I drove across town for an errand. While in the parking lot, I sent a picture to my printer to print at home using the app. When I got home, it was waiting for me on the printer tray. Amazing! The color resolution of the pages I’ve printed so far has been vibrant, sharp, and clear. Quite impressive. This printer came with 4 ink bottles (different colors), a black and white printhead and a color printhead. When I filled the tanks with ink, there was still some ink leftover in the bottles. The ink provided is supposed to last for 2 years. If that is so, I would be so happy. Printer ink is very expensive and that is one of the reasons why I bought this printer: save money on ink. So far, I am pleased with my new HP Smart Tank 5101 printer and I highly recommend it.
