Processor Cooler Comparison

Processor does all that it is supposed to and the supplied cooler in-box is OK. Very fast shipping! 5 |

This processor runs hot. Make sure to use a cooler with lots of ventilation or go with water cooled. 5 |

This cooler is fantastic. Keeps the processor at very reasonable temps, and the CAM software is very intuititive for configuring fan curves and the LCD screen. The only part that seemed a little confusing at first was the wiring. The cooler includes an rgb controller for the fans as each fan has a 4 pin and an rgb connecter, but after reading the instructions it made it clear how to plug everything in and get it working. Overall a very clean and nice cooler 5 |

Using this processor paired with the Cooler Master - MasterLiquid ML240L RGB 66.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler. Keeps a consistent 30-ish C temp at idle and maybe between 40s - 50s C during gaming. Probably wont require the liquid cooling but I did that as an option to overclock in a few years and stave off an upgrade in a while whenever games become more demanding. Pair this with 32 gigs of DDR4 RAM and the Nvidia RTX 2070 and your rig will feel unstoppable right now. 5 |

My company recently implemented new security policies on our workstations which effectively removed all administrative privileges from our user accounts. To do anything that requires administrative privileges, even installing/updating software, we have to contact an admin to remote into our computers and enter their credentials. As an electrical engineer I have a lot of software that I use for various work related reasons. Finding this new policy as a hindrance on my ability to do my work efficiently, I decided to update my ~8 year old PC and do my work on my own equipment. Coming from a third generation i5 processor, the difference is night and day. I did find that the stock cooler was not cooling as well as I would like, even without overclocking. So I did upgrade to a larger and more efficient cooler and my idle temps are below 40C, and jump between 50C and 60C under heavy load. My previous setup was water cooled but it is a pain to setup and maintain so for now I'm just keeping it simple with air cooling. I would have spent a bit more and purchased a processor with a higher core count but I have heard that AMD will be coming out with a new processor series with the AM5 socket, so I didn't want to invest too highly on this AM4 processor. This processor was my middle ground and so far I am very happy with it! 5 |

After years of enduring a 10 year old i5-750 processor, it was time to upgrade. I was initially pricing out an Intel processor and liquid cooler. For the same price. I ended up going with a 40% more powerful AMD processor, which comes with a decent cooler! The cooler is pretty quiet at idle/light workloads. At higher loads, it's a bit noisy. If you are a silent PC enthusiast, I'd suggest upgrading your cooler to a BeQuiet or Noctua CPU cooler. Even on the stock cooler the processor works quite well. Idles at 36-38ºC and full load it goes up to 75º with PBO off and 85º with PBO on. Benches at ~4800 on Cinebench R20. I expect to see a slight improvement once my 3200MHz RAM upgrade arrives! (currently on single channel 2400MHz) I decided to go with the ASUS Strix X470-F Gaming Motherboard, it is more than enough to handle this processor. 5 |

Recently made the switch from intel to amd with this processor. the performance is impressive for the price, and runs cooler than my intel setup. Sufficient for my needs in gaming and photo editing. 5 |

Bought for a workstation for photography. Works great, and fast. Comes with processor and cpu cooler. 5 |

Coming from an Intel i7-4770k, I was expecting a major improvement, but I am absolutely blown away at how capable this processor is. Not a single game I play can push this processor to its limit, and most can't even reach 40%! I haven't even bothered overclocking it, either. The Ryzen 7 3700X does run a bit hot with the stock cooler, but the processor can handle it no problem, so long as the case has adequate cooling. If thermals are any issue, water coolers are always available. Quick note: The stock cooler comes with thermal paste already applied. 5 |

Even though its more than a year old this processor (K version) is a beast. If you get a good cooler (such as Noctua d-15s) the 8700k stays cool just fine and even with a mild overclock (4.7 or 4.8) it outperforms my high expectations. 5 |
