I needed a smaller camera that is not too professional looking as my 5DMiii. MLB has cracked down on what type of camera is allowed into Major League Baseball stadiums and spring training complexes. So for 2 yrs I didn't go to spring training to take pictures of the players, which is my passion. That's how I got into photography, for sports photography. And because of photography that is how I met my wife! She is also a photographer with even better skills than me! Anyway, I finally broke down and bought this lower level camera and decided to put it to the test! To my surprise it has feature that my go to camera has. You can shoot in Manual, Aperture priority or Shutter priority! You can shoot in RAW and you can adjust the settings on a fly to raise your shutter speed and adjust your aperture to take great shots! It has the latest Digic 8 image processor, image stabilizer, and just the feel of it makes it easy to fit in your hand and light enough to carry the WHOLE DAY! I was pleasantly surprised right out of the box! I had this camera for just 3 weeks and shot just 3 weekends with this and don't let it's small footprint fool you! This is a great camera! The photos prove it and it's so good that I can't wait to take it to spring training this coming year and use the powerful zoom to get just the right shot! I'm also taking this camera to Europe next month! So let me repeat: features that rival the professional cameras that canon has. A small learning curve to get acquainted with it's features and what limitations it has compared to a full blown DSLR. And you too can be taking beautiful pictures! cons: NOT A DSLR it does have limitations but for an ALL AROUND TOWN camera it's THE BOMB! 5 |

As someone once said, “If you like your current camera, you can keep your current camera.” Or you can just acknowledge the changing times and take a serious look at something much smaller, faster and with many more features and benefits. I own this camera and purchased it from B&H along with the Panasonic 16-35mm f/4 lens, the Panasonic 24-105 mm f/4 lens, the Panasonic 50mm f/1.4 lens and the really cool and small XLR adapter. What really sold me on coming over to the Panasonic S1H from 20 years with Canon was watching the just released training video for the S1H authored by the former Sony training video legend, Doug Jensen. https://vimeo.com/391706599. It was and is the best $49.95 I have ever spent. 4 hours of in depth and real world training, including 18 different videos. This is a professional training video by a professional with some serious street cred, not some guy with his ballcap turned around backwards with an iPhone taped to the ceiling showing yet another unboxing of a camera. Prove it for yourself. Watch some S1H sample videos from Vimeo or YouTube. Or, build a simple Excel spreadsheet and compare the differences between the S1H and any camera you currently own or are thinking about purchasing. After dialing in the correct settings, I can readily see why Netflix has this camera on their approved list for content creators. 4:2:2 10 bit color internally and the ability to shoot in either full frame or Super 35mm. 5 |

Purchased the mic to record a professional training session. I was amazed at the richness of the vocal quality, the ability to filter out background noise and the ease of set up. Highly recommend this mic. 5 |

I am not a professional. I bought it to record the sound for an outdoors Biological Sensitivity Training video put on at a construction project by the project Biologist. Easy set up, charged the batteries when I first opened the box. It mounted easily and securely on the camera, I got a mini plug to XLR cord to connect directly to my Panasonic HCX1000 Camcorder. Adjusted the sound per simple instructions provided and got excellent results. My concern in reading the other reviews was that the microphone is of poor quality. For voice recording, it performed perfectly for what I used it for. Over all very pleased with the product. 5 |

I bought this camera for two things. To video dogs I was grooming and to video dogs I was training. I use these videos for training new employee purposes as well as for the customers enjoyment. I've already posted one on my YouTube channel. It does come with a non waterproof back to the waterproof camera case so you can record sound better. Perfect for what I'm doing. I'm not going to submerse the camera but it may get splashed a bit when bathing a dog. It should be splash proof even with the slotted back on it. I attached it to a chest harness while I was grooming and that worked out much better than a helmet cam would have. You can see clearly everything my hands are doing. And because it's attached to a chest harness it's right under my chin so picks up sound well. Surprisingly it was not in my way at all, although I looked a bit odd with it on. My YouTube channel is petitepetinn. 5 |
