Professional Video Cameras Red

I am a professionally working videographer and photographer. My work is about 60 percent music based and about 40 percent portraiture and model work. Since most of what I get hired to do is video based I needed something that would hold up to my 6K RED Epic Dragon in terms of resolution and speed. As well as be a fast and reliable photo driven camera. Basically the perfect hybrid. I know Canon is now focusing on their R Lenses and cameras but with how much money I have invested in L glass that isn't really an option right now. And to be honest its given new life to all the lenses I already own. Yes, the price IS quite expensive for this camera but since the day it showed up at my door I have loved this thing. The image is superb and video is on par with my expectations. In the past I absolutely hated video out of the 5D series cameras so I was worried I'd have a subpar soft image. The 1080p 120fps isn't revolutionary but its a very clean and sharp slow motion for when I don't want to use the RED. The 5.5K is very sharp and beautiful straight out of camera but be prepared for your computer to work hard with how demanding the files are. The auto focus is insanely better than I expected it to be, even at apertures as fast as f1.2 it locks onto the eyes and holds steady. Battery life is a huge plus too with the larger capacity batteries and I enjoy not having to carry a dozen smaller LP-E6's in my bag. All I can hope for is for things to get back to normal so I can enjoy using this on the road and seeing hot it holds up. But safe to say I think it will be exceptional in that environment.

We're on a small synagogue budget but could afford 4 of these - two on cameras, and two on the video switcher. Get the red case one to stand out!

I've owned a lot of video cameras. Most recent being; Red Komodo, Sony FS7, FS5, A7Sii, GH5, GH4, and this camera tops my list and sits right below the Komodo as my favorite. With a catch: You have to shoot 400mb All Intra LOG. And when you do, you end up with a beautiful image that allows you all the latitude to grade as you wish, with the dual ISO and exceptional low light capability giving you noise-free shadows. I sold this off when switching to my Komodo, but I would buy another in a heartbeat.

I bought this so when I shoot video I can use my Nikon cameras and not have to use my Panasonic just to record audio. It has a lot of options and is a really good solution for DSLR audio. This newer model has continuous rotating knobs that allows adjustments while recording. The older model had clicking knobs that caused some issues. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it has a prerecording mode where a red light flashes and when it is recording it is a solid red. It would be nice to have the flashing red light when recording so that my cameras and Tascam are all blinking. Not a major issue, but you need to keep an eye on it. Really pleased with it

I've had 10 different digital cameras. I've done professional video and stills throughout my working life. My G9II (and Gh6) is the best camera I've ever used. The AF on the G9II for BIF and sports is extremely good. The video is a professional grade documentary or B roll cinema camera. Pair it with Panasonic PL grade lenses and it becomes a tool with which you can do your best work. The handheld hires is amazing.

I do professional videography but I started out years ago shooting on a Pentax K1000 film camera. I bought the a6000 primarily for shooting video with a large sensor camera. This camera is fantastic. At around $500 there is nothing that comes close in features and it has a aps C sensor which is found in 90% of all dslr and mirrorless cameras. I’ve seen canon 1” sensor point ant shoot cameras for hundreds more. I shoot low light wedding videos on this camera and the video looks fantastic. It also shoots video in Sony’s xavc 50 mbps format which is found on Sony cameras and pro camcorders costing thousands more. This small camera is a beast!
