Projector Screen Buying Advice

I reviewed projectors for weeks before buying this model. We needed a projector that would work in a small hall for church functions giving power point presentations once a month. Price did matter. We will officially try it in the hall next week. But it's been set up twice at home using walls and a gray projector screen and it is clear and bright all the time. Colors look great. Words are clear in all lighting conditions. The on screen menu was easy to use and make adjustment. We're using a HDMI cable and a USB cable for the remote as a mouse to change screens. I expect all to go well with our presentations.

This is my first projector and before buying it I really did quite a bit of study about which one I should go for . My primary purpose was to watch movies on big screen and let my son play games too on bigger screen when he would want . As per my budget I shortlisted Epson 8350 and Optoma but I went for Optoma because of the size and weight which is much lesser than Epson . Let me tell you I was not dissappointed at all after this purchase . The picture quality is excellent and has multiple options for brightness, contrast etc which makes viewing a pleasure . I installed them next to my projector screen and they sound great.

I used this on my Optoma HD20 projector. It was a little difficult to adjust. Advice, loosen every screw on the device and it is easier to position the way you want.

Anyone looking to extend there monitor onto a TV screen or projector this is the way to go.

Using this to decode an NDI source to a projector in Church services with live stream. We previously were sending the Presentation Laptops screen to the OBS computer via NDI, and used a separate proprietary wireless video feed to the main projector. Got this so we can use the same NDI source for both and eliminate the wireless projector feed. It is working well. One thing to be aware of: the projector will display will go blank in a couple of seconds if there is no video and audio activity when using NDI Screen Capture as the source. This can be an issue during power points with static screens. You can set the decoder to keep the last thing displayed on the screen or allow it to go blank. I prefer it to go blank so I know something is wrong right away. You can also resolve by making sure the NDI Screen Capture is using an active audio source (like the microphone). This decoder has been reliable and is reasonably priced. Perhaps other decoders won't have the inactivity issue but they are also more expensive. This has not been a show stopper for us.

I took the advice from several presentations for buying a tripod and went 'high end' with this. (My previous was on the low end cost scale.) I am not disappointed at all. The main trick for landscape photography is to make sure you know ahead of time where the shoot will be - carrying 5kgs around here, there and everywhere is no picnic. That kind of pushes you to do proper scouting and composition planning - which is actually a plus as it can cut your 'field time' down.
