I'm just a beginner when it comes to editing and developing videos. I didn't expect a control surface to be so easy to work with. I mainly use DaVinci Resolve, which does not fully support this controller. You should note that not everything is mapped to Tangent's controller. I didn't know that before I bought it, and I was a little disappointed. That changed as soon as I played around with it for a while. Oh, and you'll need a Powered USB hub to connect everything at once. Check the manual for more info. Tangent's software lets you add custom mapping and has great video instructions for how to do it. I haven't fully mapped out everything yet, but just using the default settings really increases the fun, and speed, of manipulating videos! I chose the Element because: - They've been making controllers for a while, and ones that are compatible with many programs. - The build quality seemed better than Blackmagic's mini controller. - It was really easy to find replacement parts, just in case. - And the reviews were spotless. I know that's not the best reason, but I did notice a few quality issues get mentioned with Blackmagic's controller. It's been working like a champ! I contacted Tangent to see if they needed any info from me for warranty purposes. They got back to me quickly and explained my receipt would be fine. If you can't get the whole shebang (kit) I would recommend the TK by itself too. Happy grading! 5 |
