This PV USB DI was recommended by a fellow Audio Engineer. It works great to connect a laptop to XLR feeds, either in Stereo or Summed to Mono. Sonically, much clearer than the ubiquitous LTIBLOX. 5 |

Jan 24, 2016 Review of: Magnus PV-7451M Tripod/Monopod with 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head I purchased the Magnus tripod for use with my Canon Rebel XT DSLR. I'm taking a digital photography class at Umpqua Community College here in Oregon, and since I was going to be taking a lot of different kind of photographs to meet the syllabus of this course I needed a good tripod. My other tripod was in use with one set of 25 x 100 Celeste on astronomical binoculars, and between these two issues was a good excuse for a new tripod. I had had good experience with B&H photo before, went online to see what they carried in the way of tripods. Wow, quite a collection of tripods. So I narrowed down the criteria for my choice and went with the Magnus PV 7451M. The reviews that were online were very favorable and the fact that the center portion of the tripod was removable for use as a monopod was a real plus. The quick release mechanism for attaching my camera has turned out to be a tremendous advantage. I bought my Canon Rebel XT in 2008 and had used its 18-55 lens for general photography. The primary reason I bought the camera was it was a good quality DSLR, and with a few accessories could be used with my telescopes for digital astrophotography. (I have a 5 inch Maksutov-Cassegrain on an Alt-Az mount and an 8 inch Schmidt- Cassegrain on a German equatorial mount.) So most of my use of the camera has been astronomical in nature, that is until I started taking my digital photography class. So in summary, the tripod has allowed me the flexibility I need to meet the class requirements and to learn some new tricks in terrestrial photography. Thus, even as a novice user I find the tripod meets all of my requirements and works as advertised 5 |

clamps onto the most common camera rail systems - 15mm, pv, 19mm to make a great mounting point for many accessories. 5 |

Tons of features including charging from multiple sources, e.g. 120VAC, DC (PV or 12V car Adapter); multi function display; plenty of AC receptacles. The unit packs a punch in a relatively light package. Well work the price. 5 |

Pros: I have found in the Magnus PV-7451M Tripod/Monopod a great balance between price and quality, not too expensive nor too light but sturdy enough. With the instant savings I got two of them for less than one hundred bucks, plus I got also a couple of Magnus PV-74 quick release mounts for less than ten bucks each, so I may have them installed in other cameras and have even more flexibility. With two tripods and two quick release mounts, I can move easier. Cons: Joint between quick release mount tilts a little bit with my Sony a850+70-210mm lens, this not happen with my a6000+55-210, of course, the former is quite heavy, the later very light. I consider that this ia good purchase even at regular price. Grab a couple of quick release mounts, you wont regret it. 5 |

I use the FM18 with a Panasonic AG-DVC30, and a PV-GS150. I like this so much, I've ordered a second one. It is similar in use to my old Bogen 3063, and includes two pan handles. The head has a nice heft to it, all actions are smooth, and the quick release plate is a good size. I use this primarily in the field, on live shoots, not so much in a studio, sometimes on a dolly, and have it mounted atop a set of Bogen 3046 legs. My only probelm with this head is the odd shaped QR plate tightening knob. I'd prefer a round knob to a tear drop shape. 5 |

I just received a refurbished Nikon D780 DSLR. So far everything seems to be working properly. But I haven't taken very many pictures with it yet. The first thing I did was check the shutter count and was pleased that there were only 420 releases. The one thing I find lacking it that the only button that can be programmed for both autofocus AND AF-Area is the AF-ON button. This doesn't work for the PV button. With my Nikon D500 I like to have the AF-ON button set for Group area AF AND the PV button set for single point AF. The D780 doesn't allow this flexibility. 5 |
