Our old 20 year outdoor speakers finally died. So after about 6 hours of Internet browsing off to the store I went. After listening in the store, it seemed this was the ONLY outdoor speaker that even approached my need for clean sound thoughout a eclectic range of music. To be honest the on the "metal Shelf" in store demo the speaker's performance, although the best out of the outdoor batch in the store, seemed to offer only at best, a compromise in performance to gain the weatherabilty. The in store demo was decieving...Upon installation over our deck area, my wife and I were stunned, both our jaws dropped...Instead of a the expected mush of voices and sound elements we could hear individual instruments and beautiful voice qualities and inflections we only heard before in our indoor system.. The apparent frequency response was incredible as well, way beyond our expectations. This was accomplished BY ONLY CHANGING TO theses new Atrium 8 SDI speakers. We played a Mahler Symphony, some 90's rock, a movie soundtrack from Beasts of the Southern Wild and a wonderful jazz vocal group called Paris Combo. Every piece was beautifully depicted and actually dimensioned with only our two speaker setup. My wife's commented out of her excitement and delight, " Oh honey this sounds so wonderul, We have to throw a party !!!! Thank you Polk Audio for lots of wonderful soundful parties to come!!!!

The sound quality is excellent. I listen to rock, jazz, metal, country, it all sounded awesome to me. The bass and treble is perfect. My receiver is connected to a cassette deck, cd player, and turntable.I like the remote that came with it. The bluetooth is easy to connect to other Bluetooth devices. The one problem i had was with both the manual and back of the unit for speaker hookups. Picking which speaker output to use for the speakers I have (8 ohms) very confusing for me, probably not a problem for anyone else.

The sound quality at all levels is fantastic. I love the size and shape. It holds like an old school boombox with a modern look. The new JBL logo is sleek too. Pair these with the battery life, and this is a speaker I am always stoked have. I listen to a wide variety of music, with rock being my go to. I started out with easy listening rock from the Eagles, and it was crystal clear. I'd ranged up to hard rock, and being just as clear, it felt like a concert in my home while just at 50% volume. I had to go outside to test it on full blast. Even then, the sound quality was good. I've never had such a loud speaker play this well, this loud. The portability is great with it. It's sleek, and looks great. The handle on top feels is metal, and along with the rest of the unit, feels very high quality. The product's packaging is even nice. It's also waterproof and dustproof, which is a huge perk for me. I love to bring this outside, in the shop, camping, to parties, and on the lake. The versatility is great, and I can still enjoy it at home. A huge perk for me is the battery life. It has a 24-hour battery life, this holds true. It's so convenient to have a long lasting battery in a speaker like this because when I do bring it along camping, I know it'll last the whole trip. When I bring it on the lake, it's good for the whole day, for a fire at night, and then some. When just playing at home, I charge this twice a week tops. It's nice not to have to charge a bluetooth speaker each day. All in all, this is a great speaker. It is so incredibly loud, it's eye-catching, and the battery life is not one to let you down. I'd highly recommend this speakers to those who like to jam, are audiophiles, or simply want a great sounding speaker for any occasion.

The sound on the play 5 is crystal clear, base is immense but it can be adjusted. Classic, rock, techno or house this speaker is for you. Build quality, this speaker is solid

Love the sound, the bass, the quality. From classical to jazz to rock, this speaker delivers. Worth the $$$. Started with midrange size and returned it because I like music loud! This one did the job. No regrets!

Although marketed as an outdoor speaker, I installed them in a large master bathroom. Fantastic sound when added to my Sonos system. I love them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The sound on the JBL Partybox 110 is awesome! This speaker brings the sound to the party with bass! The light up speaker sound is so cool. Used the speaker for an outdoor party and also for an outdoor movie night. One person said the sound was like being at the movie theater. This speaker is also built like a waterproof tank. The speaker will get a lot of use.

I bought one speaker and had to get me another one. To not only set it up for my home but for when I host parties and do my outdoor theater. The sound quality, clarity and bass is ridiculously sick.
