Rca Adapter Vhs To Computer Speakers

This is a must have if you have old home movies on vhs that need to be transferred to your home computer.

Since the economic times are tough and I had to cancel my satellite tv, I discovered I can watch many programs on my computer, albeit a day late. With this little adapter, I can send the sound that would normally go to my cheesy little computer speakers to my cheesy tv speakers via plugging in an rca cable from the adapter to my tv. Just add an s-video cable from the computer to the TV, and your in business with a medium quality picture and stereo sound.

It's an Mini to RCA cable. It does cable-y things and I can hear stuff through my speakers as a result. Nothing much to complain about at all.

I have stacks of VHS videos from the mid-1980s and I wanted to digitize them before the tapes degraded and couldn't be played. I took several to a local shop to have transferred ro DVD and it cost a lot of money -- about $80.00 for two DVDs. The shop owner said that it cost so much because the project tied up his expensive machine and he had to keep on eye them. I researched how to do the transfer myself and I saw good reviews on the Elgato System and hoped It would work for me. I am not a techno geek but can learn new applications (66 year old). I ordered the product and when I got the directions, it looked too easy. I called Elgato to be sureI understood that I simply had to connect my VCR to my computer (MacBook Pro) directly; it did not need to be connected to the TV at all. I downloaded the software and the screen directions are very clear. FYI. The video streaming from the VHS player shows up on the computer screen and can be cropped if necessary. At the end, I open iMovie and then burn DVDs with iDVD. Eventually, I will save to an external drive. I am very pleased with this product and the quality is excellent. I did find that I had the clean the heads on the VCR if the tapes seemed messy. I found several helpful You Tube clips on how to take off the cover of a VCR and clean the heads with alcohol and q-tips.

I purchased the Elgato to transfer some old VHS tapes to my computer. I was not sure what to expect, but I have been very satisfied. The software is easy to setup and use, the process for transferring the video is simple and effective, and the A/V quality is surprisingly good especially considering the VHS source.

Used the product to copy VHS tapes from an LG Combo into a (current) Mac computer using iMovie to edit. Worked very smoothly with no problems. However,note that the CD-ROM supplied with the Video Capture could not be read by the Mac Computer so I found the Elgato web site and downloaded the software from there. Somewhat frustrating though.

I have a Handycam DV tape camera, and for years I have tried periodically to transfer tapes to my computer. I'm fairly adept at solving these kinds of problems, but I guess I had lost the similar cable that came with the camera (if one was included). I tried to use the iLink but it wouldn't work with my Mac. In fact, way I finally was able to transfer from my camera to the Mac was to go from camera to VHS player with this tape, and then from the VHS player to the computer with the Roxio VHS to DVD (for Mac) cable/software. There may be a better way, but now I finally have a solution!

For years I have longed to have our family VHS and video tapes on my computer. But the cost has made it out of the question. We did one DVD of videos but they are all over the place, none in order. This device is so incredibly easy to use, I was sure I must be wrong! But the first tape I did was incredible. I must learn more to see if I can increase the pixels... the bit I have done is super on the computer in a small size but will not work on a TV. (I think) Great product!

I purchased a Video Capture cable recently so that I could transfer S-VHS tapes to my computer. I have started the process and everything is working great. Installing the cable and software went without a problem and the video capture software that ships with the cable is very simple to use. I could not be happier with this purchase.
