Reading Guitar Tab

I bought this mainly because I play guitar and wanted to be able to have my entire music library - guitar tab - on the tablet. I originally had the 11 inch version, but it was just too small for this purpose. It is noticeably heavy. So it feels just below a Mac Book Air. If you want to add a keyboard, you might as well get the Mac Book. The Mac Book has additional app support so you really have to understand why you want to use this for. 5 |

As it turns out the SB-5000 already shipped with one. It was my fault for not reading the in the box tab carefully. I suppose it doesn't hurt to have a spare :) 5 |

I heard about this mic from reading interviews with recording engineers in TapeOp mag. It seemed to be a well regarded secret weapon so I was intrigued enough to buy one. The price is certainly great. I tested this mic running through a FWRAudio RNP (pre) & RNC (comp) combo via a MOTU 828 then into GarageBand. It was up against my German Sennheiser e614 and my Russian Oktava MK_012-01, both similar mics. The Pro 37 is very small and light, but seemed ultra high quality. I tested it on acoustic guitar and also voice. I thought it sounded wonderful! It had as much detail as the Oktava, but more bass response; a richer, fuller sound. The AT had more warmth than the Senn, which is also detailed, but a slightly dull mic. So I am pleased, certainly for the money! I plan on using the Pro37 on the 12th fret neck position recording acoustic, w/ the Oktava on the body. I've read the Pro37 is also killer on guitar cabs for electrics too, so I'll be trying that soon. 5 |
