Real Time Vehicle Gps Tracking Devices

I have been wanting a watch with gps tracking because I’m getting into hiking. I enjoy the features of the connect app and the Garmin Instinct.

This device has worked great so far the gps was dead on , and the tracking was too. It is perfect for my wife as she can see my exact location, mine is set to every two hours it sends her my location. The texting is great too the last trip my side x side broke down probably 15 miles from cell service. I was able to message her via the inreach and it saved a long walk . Messages between us also show my location. It’s definitely a game changer when out solo for multiple days to long hunting trips with zero cellphone signal ..

This is my 5th Garmin GPS and 1st specifically for a motorcycle. A motorcycle GPS has the challenge of working in bright daylight, and this was accomplished flawlessly. I can even read the screen with sunglasses! The unit comes with a power cord to be attached to your battery, or run time of three hours on internal battery. It has a road or off-road mode with terrain display. The mount attaches to your handlebars and can be detached quickly for storage. The touch screen can be articulated while wearing gloves. It is bluetooth compatible with helmet intercom, phone or other bluetooth devices. From this point, it works like other GPS devices with a myriad of options to customize your GPS. Lifetime annual map upgrades at no charge and in 12 years my Garmin devices have been wrong twice and each years they are getting better.

I have had several gps devices for cars and motorcycles in last 15 years and the Garmin Zumo XT is the best. The screen is the brightest I have ever seen. This by itself makes it a winner. It also gets straight A’s for ease of use on a motorcycle with touch screen even with gloves on. It is very easy to learn how to use and the battery last a long time sitting in my living room learning all the functions. Can’t say enough, Garmin got this one right!

The Blackmagic Design devices are excellent, high-quality and function well.  They are also (particularly the Mini Converter Analog to SDI) excellent GPS signal jammers and that fact has caused me a lot of grief.  I use the analog to SDI converter in my aircraft and the SDI to analog converter in my office.  I have three GPS receivers in my small plane that I do infrared remote sensing work with and all three were jammed and rendered inoperable when the converter had power applied to it.  My plan is to speak with the company to see if there is something they can do with internal shielding, and alternatively, Ill build a Faraday cage to limit the negative effects on my navigation equipment which is typically within about five or six feet of the converter.
