Realtek Gaming Gbe Family Controller Ethernet Driver

Truly plug and play--very small and very convenient. Because of windows and realtek driver issues, computer lost sound and I spent many hours trying to download drivers and even reloaded the system which took oodles of hours and ridiculous effort. I wish I just used this in the first place and said F*** U windows.

This RealTek GB NIC works great in our older DELL PowerEdge 2850 server!! We needed to replace an Intel Pro/1000 MT GB server adapter that went bad and bought another Intel GB adapter but the server would/could NOT recognize the new Intel NIC. Tried everything to remove the installed Intel NIC driver so it would take the new Intel NIC but the Intel NIC just would not be recognized - driver would not install correctly. The SOLUTION was to install the RealTek GB NIC card (non-Intel NIC). The RealTek NIC was recognized by the server upon bootup. I updated the RealTek driver that was installed by Windows Server 2003 using the CD that came with the NIC card. It worked with no problem. Am going to team two of them in the server later. Note: Make sure you update any driver installed automatically by your computer, itself, with the CD driver.

I use these on my SX3008F v1.20 and my SG3428X v1.30. I didn't need to do anything special in the Omada Controller for any 10GbE links to any device. I also didn't have to do anything special in the settings when linking the SG3428X to an EAP670, even though the latter has a 2.5GbE port. I used a Trendnet PoE adapter, which connects to the module. With these modules plugged into the 10GbE ports on my SX3008F, and with the other ends of the cables going to my ASUS gaming PC motherboard (2.5 GbE) or to my unmanaged Netgear 5-port switch (1GbE), I needed to check Enable for Flow Control in the Omada Controller for the port.

I took my gaming to the next level with this controller and I love using it!

Since this device is so new, the device driver for Wi-Fi and Ethernet is not in the installation software for the operating system. You must connect an external USB Wi-Fi so that it can download the device driver from the internet. Other than this hiccup, everything works fine. I bought three.

The assembly was easy, and the driver installation was easy, and the ethernet cable connection was easy, and paper roll loading was easy, and then the plotting worked well. Only glitch was the driver software creating two printers, and no documentation on which was which (one was ethernet and one was USB).

This adapter works well with Linux, but will require the user to compile the open source driver and install it. Careful instructions are on the web. I use it on a workstation normally attached to ethernet, but occasionally in need of wireless access. Quick speed test on a strong signal was about 250Mbps (650Mbps on ethernet).

I use this controller for up to three PTZ 30x cameras, via PoE Ethernet. Nearly every feature of the camera is accessible through this controller. Besides pan, tilt and zoom, I regularly use manual exposure control, and up to 10 preset positions for each camera. A particularly nice feature is the ability to attach an HDMI monitor to view the currently selected camera via Ethernet RTSP. You set the speed one notch below that of your HDMI or SDI video. This is an essential feature when working with software (e.g., WireCast) or hardware (e.g., SlingStudio) which has a significant lag time. The monitor lag is only a few frames, which is easy to accommodate. I ultimately bought two Superjoy controllers, because I rely on it for nearly every job.

Reasonably priced 10 Gbe NIC !!!
