This all in one box is nothing short of amazing! I'm blown away by all that it can do. I've been recording for over 20 years, done it all, tascam cassette 4 track, 2/4/8 channel interfaces, laptops, home studios, pro studios. Now this thing comes along and sheesh, it can do it all! The preamps are nice and clean with plenty of gain, I set the record IN meters in the menu, the 5 mix outs are a god send. I recorded 8 channels at band practice for an hour and a half, got home and transferred to the computer, it was just 3gb. Immediate playback and ability to mix right away is great, sound quality is crystal clear from highs to lows, the reverb is nice for a adding a bit of depth to vocals/guitar/keys. I love that when you stop and hit record it creates a new folder and song automatically, no fumbling through menu's. The fader adjustments are a bit tricky at first when switching mixes as the faders don't work until you set them back to the light markers but next time I'll know. I was choosing between the L-12, the soundcraft 24 and the new Tascam mixer/recorder thats coming out, this is perfect in size for portability, I don't need the pad or phone connectivity. My only complaint is the power adapter wire is thin and flimsy, would have preferred the heftier 3 prong plugs, also the metal piece is a little hard to unplug from the machine, it takes a bit of force, I hope that connector doesn't fall apart one day. All in all this all in one unit is mind blowing in everything that it can do, I feel it's a laptop, multi-headphone amp, effect unit, mixer all in one small footprint, Zoom came through big on this product! 5 |

I have been working with professional equipment for many years, this microphone is beyond praise. I recommend it for professional studios and recording. I am currently using a microphone to record a presenter in a news studio 5 |

I've been using them for well over a month, at this point, and I can confidently say that they are very much worth every penny. My favorite room/speaker combination for mixing is the NRG Studios with the midfield speakers. My second favorite is Archon Studios (again on midfield). The SUV is really good for a different/troublesome listening environment. Lastly, the Howie Weinberg Mastering Room is really good for finding honky frequencies, particularly in dialog. My first music mix was greeted by my bandmates with the first comment that they could hear the bass better than any of our previous demo mixes. For the cost of the headphones at the highest level, you can't even come close to competing with buying pro-sumer monitors and acoustic treatment. I'll take it a step further and point out that, if you're like us and can't really afford a studio space that's completely sound treated, or you have multiple machines running in your room (NAS, servers, hard drives, etc.) the amount of money you would spend to accomodate all of that and get an excellent listening environment is going to be a 5-figure investment, easily, if not more. For a few hundred $$$ the headphones will get you everything you need, plus the amazing portability of being able to mix anywhere you can take your laptop and interface. The Slate VSX Headphones are certainly a game changer that can benefit anyone in the audio realm. 5 |

Most studios, even with acoustic treatment, will have inconsistencies within the frequency domain caused by furniture reflection, stubborn low-frequency room modes and, in the case of a multichannel setup, slight delays and phase differences between the speakers. Sonarworks corrects for all of it, and allows for plenty of customization according to the engineer's listening preference. The calibration takes about 20min for a stereo set, but the difference is night and day. It will not replace acoustic treatment, but it surely is a big cherry on the cake. Mixes translate more easily, and I don't spend hours checking if a particular resonance or frequency build-up is caused by the room/speakers or by the mix itself. 5 |

Right out of the box, I did 3 time lapses here in Miami Beach and they all worked out great... Plus I tried it out as a simple shutter release and works well there too Simple interface... with a few clicks you are up-and-running.. I will have a chance to use it soon with some production dollys and a new pan/tilt head from Emotimo and I can hardly wait!! 5 |
