I do a lot of video podcasting where I need to record sound-overs. I'm producing HD quality video, so I want audio to match and got tired of dealing with cheap unreliable microphones. This mic was very easy to set up, it's high quality construction,and gives me nice warm voice quality in my recordings. Since the mic-in port to a computer tends to generate lots of noise, the USB input is perfect for those recording to computers.

This is an incredible microphone. I purchased this microphone to record interviews, vocals, music and field sound for video. I wanted to take my audio for video to a higher level, so I did my research and everything I read highly recommends this shotgun microphone. Although I have just begun using it, I am finding the quality of vocals and field sound recorded with this microphone to be stunning! I can already tell this microphone will be an integral part of my kit for many years to come.

I have used the matched pair for over two years now and am beyond pleased with the sound. I use a tube pre-amp for the mics and the sound is mellow but sharp, clear and full. I used to have to adjust the sound recorded by my previous mics, but rarely have to do anything with the sounds these mics record. I have recorded school bands and orchestras, and now record two local symphonys. The product is consistant and always good. I also video the performances and use the sound track from these mics to overlay the video sound. Perfect match. Thinking of buying a second set of matchings to work as backup. Great mics!

I am not a professional. I bought it to record the sound for an outdoors Biological Sensitivity Training video put on at a construction project by the project Biologist. Easy set up, charged the batteries when I first opened the box. It mounted easily and securely on the camera, I got a mini plug to XLR cord to connect directly to my Panasonic HCX1000 Camcorder. Adjusted the sound per simple instructions provided and got excellent results. My concern in reading the other reviews was that the microphone is of poor quality. For voice recording, it performed perfectly for what I used it for. Over all very pleased with the product.

I got this to do voice overs on a video, but have also used it to record guitar and vocals. The sound quality has blown me away. I've used the mic with OSX and Ubuntu and it has been truly plug and play with both. I have had 0 latency while recording additional tracks when using the 1/8th inch headphone out on the mic. The only downside is that the knobs seem a little flimsy compared to the incredibly stout build of the mic itself.

I used the product to record a play for extra sound for a video. I put the Zoom in a place I couldn't run cables to the camera. The sound was great in the XY mode. The stereo imaging was impressive.
