Recorder Flute Instruments

One of the best (some would say the best...) microphone in the business, particularly for vocals and lower sound level instruments (acoustic guitar, flute, etc...). Extremely sensitive, very low noise. Picks up the tiniest detail. The switchable polar pattern, integrated low cut filter and 10 dB attenuation pad means you can use them for anything in any situation, couple of switches and you are done. Just did a simultaneous recording with my Schoeps on a flute and these sounded even better, if that was at all possible. More velvet and refinment in the mid tones. You could immediately tell why they are unsurpassed on voice. If you can afford it and don't mind how large they are, this is the quintessential studio mic you need in your arsenal. 5 |

I normally use my MixPre 6 II as my primary recorder for violin, cello, and other musical instruments. However, setting up the MixPre is always a hassle, and I don't like how it has to be powered. When something requires too much time and effort, there's a tendency to hesitate in using it. Since getting this recorder, I can start my recordings within a matter of seconds (literally). I can easily bring it anywhere, and it has become my preferred device for sound recording. The sound quality with the built-in mic is excellent, comparable to the MixPre II (of course depending on the mic you use). It is better than the Zoom H6 I used to own, especially for recording musical instruments. I also have the DJI MIC 2, which is excellent for voice and highly portable. However, when it comes to recording musical instruments, it falls short compared to the PCM-A10. 5 |

A fantastic value for the money. From beginner to expert musician can have so much fun and enjoyment with this recorder type instrument. Also great that it uses the recorder base for the fingering and is very intuitive. Being able to change keys, makes it fantastic for playing with transposing instruments. The 10 different voices : two being oriental instruments the other eight being western add to its flexibility. For instance, the Trumpet voice can be shifted lower so that it sounds and can play the range of the trombone. , 5 |

I’ve been wanting a way to attach a condenser microphone to my flute for years, and this little device fits the bill perfectly. Perfect for nominally acoustic settings where the sax and clarinet are present enough without amplification, but the flute requires just a bit to be heard above the rhythm section, if you already own a small condenser mike as I did, this is ideal.
